DICK SURRENDERS
To Officers and is Placed in Jail at Atoka
Sampson Dick, who shot and killed another Indian by the name of Alexander, about three weeks ago, seven miles east of the city, came in last Saturday morning and surrendered to the officers. He was carried to Atoka and placed in jail. His friends are endeavoring to make bond for his release from custody.
From what can be learned Dick claims that Alexander was advancing on him with a knife and that he shot him in self-defense.
Dick is a son of Martin Dick, has always borne a good name, and has a large number of friends, both Indians and whites in this section.
