Just happened upon your most interesting obit of the above - he is a GG uncle of my husband. I've just started searching for sibs of this Alexander, but it may interest you that one of his older brothers had a mother-in-law by the name of WADDELL. Also, I have Alexander DICK as born Glenisla, Angus which is a rather remote parish, Dundee being the nearest city.

Would love to hear from anyone descended from his parents, John DICK (about 1818 Glenisla -1877 Glenisla) & Jannet EDWARD(S) (about 1814 Glenisla - tbc 1895 Dundee). They had several children - the IGI gives a possible 11 - but I only have details of 4 of them.
