Yes,I am a direct Dixon decendant of George Dixon, with no other last names involved. I have been looking for the parents of him for about twenty years. I wrote a book in 1979 about my famly, but of course it did not concentrate on only Dixon. I was not introduced to the Dicks line intil a couple of years ago, but so far I have not even found a George Dick. He has a brother Peter Dixon who had listed his name as Dick in some research, but no George. I have the letter you mentioned about Nancy Dixon marrying David Dick. I have their wedding date and several other items, however, no lineage farther back than 1754 proven.
I found a John Dickson in Chalkleys in 1752 that was granted land in what became Greenbrier later, but then all of a charming sudden it was raining John Dixons no matter how they spelled it. Do you have anything that might help me? I cannot call myself a proven genealogist until I get the Dixon line back to wherever they came from. All my other lines have been taken way way back. Thanks for the response and I will look forward to hearing from you again.
