Have you found anything out about your Barton Dickinson? I have a relative with the same name. He had a brother named Edward Dickinson (1876 - 1962, who is my great-great grandfather. Edward and Barton's parents were named Peter Dickinson and Mary (Bryan) Dickinson. Does this sound like your Barton?

I'm looking for any information of John William Dickinson. He was born in Fournies in France on 24th January 1892 but his family was based in Bradford in Yorkshire. His parents were William Dickinson and Barbara Binns. He married Jane Tankard Rochfort 11th December 1912 and Ronald, their only child, was born 30th January 1913. Other than being a soldier in WW1 this is the last we know of him except that he died in Little Stanmore in Middlesex 30th January 1927 and he was married to Ethel.

If anyone has any information on any DICKINSONS that went to live in the Boston area, then please can you get in touch. They originated from BURNLEY in LANCASHIRE, not even sure which members of the family left their home town for a new life in the US.

I know this is a shot in the darl but I have virtually exhausted all lines of enquiry in the UK. They have to be somewhere, they couldn't have just vanished off the face of the earth!

We have a marriage announcement for him and our g. g. aunt Mary (aka Mae) Welch on Jan 22 1925 in New York City. They returned to their home in Chicago shortly after. We know she was a singer on Broadway and married into money, so perhaps this was his second marriage? She was in her 40's when she married...

DICKINSON, Edna Leo (Hollabaugh)

Hi Kelli, the proof we have is twofold:
(1) Emmitt McClendon's mother told him that Edna's middle name was Leo. Emmitt's mother and Edna were sisters.
(2) The Texas Death Records show her name as Edna Leo Dickinson. It must have either been Leo from birth or she changed it to Leo by choice which is possible. But, with her sister reporting that her middle name was Leo, and with the Texas Death Record showing that, I believe it was Leo. Now, all that said, what documentation did your great Aunt Helen have that it was Lee? Where is the family Bible when we need it! Has one ever been found? That would probably show what her middle name was at birth (Lee, Leo, or something else).

I am guessing that in nine years since you posted this, you have probably gotten an answer, but just in case....
You are looking for William Ernest Dickison (note spelling) and Ella Louise Wookey Dickison. Searching for those names should yield results. They did not leave Illinois, and are, in fact, buried in Dickison Cemetary near Dunlap, IL. They are my great-grandparents. (My name--Riddile--is the result of an adoption by a stepfather. My dad's birth name was Dickison)
Randy R+
Hello, new to Ancestry.

Have been looking for the grave of Robert Quarles Dickinson of Louisa, Virginia since 1997. He was a Confederate soldier who survived the war, lived until 1914.

Recently found his Death Cert. from St. Louis, MO. It states he was removed to Louisa, Virginia but does not state cemetery details. A search of all cemeteries in St. Louis has yielded no results.

His wife, several daughters and other family members are buried at Riverview Cemetery in Richmond, VA.

He does not appear in the published burial records in either Goochland or Louisa counties.

If anyone has any information on the location of the grave of Robert Quarles Dickinson, it would be most appreciated.

Thank you!
Sorry I didn't mention this before. Family Bible states Reuben and Maria were "married Sept. 16, 1846 in town of Harmony Wis. by J.P. Cole." My mother's baby book, which lists 3 generations, listed "Jolotus Dickinson and Sarah Pickett" so I was confused about the name. Her mother, Sarah Edith, must have spelled it incorrectly.

Re: Dickinson Family -County Durham, England

Hello. My family (Dickinson) emigrated from County Durham around 1850 and settled in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. My G-G-G-Grandfather Thomas Dickinson seems to have emigrated with his brother Charles and their mother. By trade, they were involved with mining operations. Evantually, Thomas became the Supervisor of Mines of the Cranberry Colliery in Hazleton, PA.

I just signed into Ancestry, so I'm not sure how this all works. If you want more info, I have it. Just let me know.

-David Dickinson

My ggg grandfather was Almer Dickinson, b. 1819, Vermont; lived in Underhill. By the 1850s was living in Iowa; relatives lived in Michigan. He named his children Hiram, Selena, Ethelinda, Emma, Porter. His wife was Sarah Jane Ellsworth. I believe he might have been related to Aaron. Does anyone have any information on him?
