I'm glad to see these posts! I've been searching for information about John Dixon, b. c. 1792, John Dixon, Jr., b. c. 1822 and Robert Valentine Dixon I, b. Feb. 14, 1849. RVD I is my gg grandfather - him or his father were born in Annan, Dumfriesshire. Information about the family prior to this time period has been so elusive! I believe John Jr. was a baker?
