Surnames: Diehl, Dale
I have found out that my Dale ancestors were Diehl's in Northumberland county. In the 1850 Fed Census there is a John Diehl and family. He is aged 61 born in Pa. Wife is 35 yr old Sarah (his second wife I believe). Children at home are:
George 25 PA Farmer
Mary 23 PA
Elizabeth 20 PA
Leah 17 PA
Franklin 15 PA
near him are two of his married sons Samuel 35 and William 29. Samuel is who I descend thru. He along with his brothers George, William, Henry and Jacob migrate to Iowa. Henry and Jacob migrating to Ohio first. They all are in Monroe Co., Iowa by 1860. And going by Dale in records then.
