In researching I just saw your post of Sept. 12, 2005 in which you state that you are a descendant of Smion Jacob Diehl, who came to Philadelphia from Germany on 10-12-1741 from Frankfort. Two brothers William and John Peter came before him. Family moved to NC 1842.
I am descended from Jacob Diehl (Deal) who came from Germany to Phil. Don't know exact date, but ca. 1741 would fit. However, my Jacob came to NC in the late 1700's. His son (my gggrandfather, Henry) was born in 1779 in Lincoln Co. Jacob owned land in Burke Co. (the county lines changed a few times in that period). It sounds like we might be tracing the same Jacob. If you have any more info on him(his wife's name, list of children, etc.) it would be very helpful. Will be glad to share info with you if this is the same Jacob. Please contact me at dsiebenmorgen@cablelynx.com.
