ALEDO, Ill. - Glenn E. Diehl, 79, of Aledo, Ill., died Thursday evening, May 18, 2000, at Mercer County Hospital.
Funeral Services will be at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, with the Rev. Gary Await officiating.
Burial will be in Mannon Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Fippinger Funeral Home, where memorials may be left to Serenity Hospice for the Mannon Cemetery.
Mr. Diehl was born March 26, 1921 in Mercer County, Ill., a son of George and Mary Welch Diehl. He received his education from the Mannon Schools. He married Nora Horner on June 29, 1946 at Sunbeam Parsonage.
He was employed as a mechanic at Ranney's, Olson Massey Harrison Ferguson Dealership, Castle Trucking in Joy, and retired from Henderson Ford in 1983. He also worked on small engines out of his garage at home. He was a former member of the Aledo Moose Lodge, and enjoyed woodworking and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include his wife Nora; one daughter, Faye Eckhardt and her husband, Gary; one granddaughter, Megan Eckhardt; one sister, Lois Adams and her husband, Ira; and one brother, Elmo Diehl and his wife, Ella Marie Diehl, all of Aledo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Lorraine Loretta Diehl, 72, of Muscatine, died , Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at the Muscatine Care Center.
Services will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Diehl was born July 29, 1928, in Muscatine, the daughter of Russel and Susan Whisler Martin. She married Maynard Diehl on Dec. 2, 1947, in Muscatine.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking. She also liked playing cards and bingo. Her greatest joy came from her time spent with children.
Survivors include her son, Lester Diehl and his wife, Nette, of Wapello; her very special friend, Tiffany Aide, of Muscatine; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Moore of Topeka, Kan.; her step sister, Mary Martin, of Muscatine; and two half brothers, Walter Martin of Muscatine and Wayne Martin of Atalissa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Maynard, on Nov. 3, 1991.

Services are at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Wade Duroe of Hillcrest Baptist Church will officiate.

Chloe was born Oct. 18, 2002 in Davenport.

ALEDO, Ill. - Kathryn E. Diehl, 83, Aledo, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Aledo Health and Rehab Center, Aledo.
Graveside services are at the Aledo Cemetery. The Rev. Claude Moreland will officiate.
There is no visitation. Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Senior Center or Project NOW.
She was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Hancock County, Ill., the daughter of Harley and Ellen Tippitt Parker. She married Russell Jackson in June 1938. He preceded her in death in 1964. She later married Craig Diehl. He preceded her in death.
She attended the Colchester schools.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at Mer Roc F.S. in Aledo.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna J. DeBok of Moncks Corner, S.C.; a son, Charles R. Jackson of Fairborn, Ohio; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Madge Lenix of Rock Island, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother and two sisters.

KEITHSBURG, Ill. - Dolan A. Diehl , Sr., 89, of Keithsburg, Ill., died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Aledo Rehab and Health Care Center.
The Rev. Richard Bishop of New Boston United Methodist Church and the Rev. Charles Reynolds First Christian Church of Keithsburg, Ill., will be part of the services.
Organist will be Rose Tary.
Casketbearers will be Chuck Coulter, Ernie Coulter, Marty Welin, Randy Henderson and Sam King
Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by: Mercer County V.F.W. Post No. 1571.
Memorials may be made to Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1919, in New Boston, Ill., the son of Milo Alfred and Nellie Marie (Mathews) Diehl.
He married Esther Butt on Dec. 27, 1940, in Norfolk, Va.
He worked for the Corps of Engineers for 13 years as a lead welder, retiring in 1965. He then farmed in the Keithsburg area until 2000.
He was a member of the Iron Workers & Millwright Union and the Carpenters & Jointers Union Local No. 2158.
He served in the Army during Worls War II from 1943-’45 in the Phillipines and South Pacific.
He was an avid collector and enjoyed going to auctions.
He was a 56-year member of the Masons, belonging to both the New Boston and Keithsburg Lodges. He had served as Master three times over the years.
He was a 53- year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Other memberships include the Mercer County V.F.W. and the New Boston United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Diehl, Keithsburg, Ill.; daughters Ginger and Harlan Pruess, Lowden; two sons Dolan Diehl, Jr., Ackworth, Ga. and Jimmy (Cindy) Diehl, Keithsburg; seven grandchildren, Allen (Laura) Jackson, Brenda (Steve) Moseley, Misty (Delane) Holmes, Mike (Jolene) Diehl, Bobby (Erin) Diehl, Travis (Angel) Diehl and Stephanie (Mike) Retherford; two step grandchildren, Michele (Jay) Proesch and Todd (Debbie) Pruess; 16 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister Joanna Henderson, Aledo, Ill. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clarence “Sonny” Diehl; four sisters, Ella Whitehall, Rosella Coulter, Phyllis Welin and Harriet Coulter and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, with the Rev. Gary Await officiating.
