I am also looking for Dieppa family members who ended up in Cuba and would be grateful for any guidance. As for the France connection; there was/is a port town in France named Dieppe that is close to the border with Spain. I believe it is in the Normandy region but, I'd have to double check. At some point, perhaps several, there was fighting and/or unrest resulting in people leaving and crossing into Spain. What research I've been able to do indicates this as the likely origin of our family name. Throughout history the spelling of names changed sometimes due to pronunciations sometimes to fit in better in the new region.
