My grandfathers sister was adopted by the Diers Family in Nebraska. They were orphaned. My grand father was adopted by a Jesse Davidson and his wife, Gresham NE. I have no idea what became of the sister. Maybe this will help you.

That is common to use so many similar names. Parents were Johann Gerhard Diers (born in 1863) and Anna Marie Schaefer. Siblings names in that generation are John (born in 1882) Helena (born in 1887), William Frederick (born in 1889), Henry, Gerhard, Anna. Looking for the older family of Johann Gerhard half siblings. Family lore states he being from the 2nd wife of his father was left in contempt of his siblings. Life was made hard for him. Maybe that led to him leaving. Do you know where your Diers branch originates?

Death of Herman Diers

Kinsley, KS, Nov. 6 --- Herman Diers, 78, a pioneer of Edwards county, is dead at his home here. The funeral was held this afternoon at the Congregational church. The wife, three sons and a daughter survive. He was a native of Hanover, Germany. He located on a homestead five miles west of Kinsley in 1877.

Sounds like you are talking about another Diers bunch. My Diers were in central IL in 1890, came to Jackson Co. MN in @ 1892. Settled in Stevens County, MN around 1895. Other family were back in Jackson Co. MN which I am just learning about. They seem hard to trace.

DIERS and SCHAFFER or SCHAEFER or SHAEFFER or other variations came to
Woodford Co. IL, USA about March 1890-1893. Came from Seefeld, Oldenburg, Germany.

Johann Gerhard DIERS came with a family. His wife, Anna (SCHAEFER) DIERS
and 3 children, John age 7, Helene age 3, and William F. age 8 months. Other siblings born were: Herman, Henry, George and Anna.

Anna's 2 brothers, Johann and (Herman or Heinrich) SCHAEFER came about the same time. John SCHAEFER was on the ship with the above family in March 1890.

My husband's Diers line came over in Feb. - March 1890 landing in NY, came through IL (around Benson, McLean Co. IL) I think some family lived around Livingston Co. IL (I have researched families there).

This one family living in Benson, IL moved on to Jackson Co. MN in / before 1895 (have MN State Census); then to Stevens Co. MN about 1898 and then some descendants moved to Mille Lacs Co. and eventually some went to California. Other family siblings stayed around Big Stone and Stevens Counties.

I show Earnest Dewey Yingling's parents as John Wesley Yingling b. about 1860 and Edith M. His siblings are Earl Escort Yingling, b. 2/11/1895 in Lee, Iowa, Vera M. b. abt 1897, then Dewey, then Gladis b. abt 1901, John, about 1902, George about 1904 and Mamie, about 1906. I have contacted someone else about this family, so if they happen to give me anything that may be of interest to you I'll be glad to pass it along. And yes, I'd like a copy of Earnest Dewey's descendants, please! Maybe someday we can verify that we're talking about the same person!!

I'm so sorry that I don't have anymore info other than Earnest Dewey Yingling, his spouse and his descendants. I have no parents or siblings.

I can forward you his descendant report if you would like.

If you have Earnest Dewey Yingling's parents and any other info, I would love to add it to my tree. Most of the info I have comes from his wife's side - the Harm's family.

Hoping you can help -- you have an Ernest Yingling b. Jan 11, 1898 listed in your family tree. Can you tell me anymore about him? My grandfather had a brother named Ernest (Dewey) whom I estimate would have been born in 1898. The oldest sibling was Earl Escort, my grandfather, then Vera M., Ernest, Gladis, John, George, & Mamie in that order. I have lots of information on the Rademakers but Dirtje is as far back as I go also on Diers. I have 6 generations of Rademakers starting at 1817 through the 1960's but that as far as I go. Dora Diers is my paternal grandmother, she married Ervin Nels Linn. I have problems when I try to reseearch the Diers name. I alos have a contact inthe twin cities that has alot of information. I regretably have not replied to them. The last Diers sibling died about 10 years ago she was well into her 90's. Dora, my grandmother died in 1952. I believe that Bertha was Bertha Marie SEGGERMAN JANSSEN, wife of Jacob Ludwig JANSSEN. He was born 20 Dec 1898 in Benson, Woodford Co, IL. Jacob's parents were Jann Tjebben and Himke REWERTS JANSSEN. Jann Tjebben JANSSEN also went by Jann Tjebben FRERICHS (thanks to the Ostfriesen naming system) and was listed on his son's marriage license (1922) as John T. JANSSEN. Looking for info on Orphan Maria Diers

I am trying to research my family history -- and I've made HUGE progress over the years -- But, my short-coming has always been to find my further information on my Great Grandfather's wife.

My Great Grandfather was Henry Oldenburg and he married Mary/Maria Diers -- The family history passed down from my grandmother said she was the orphan niece of Henry Ruhbach. In my searches I found Marie Diers coming to New York with Charlotte and Emma Rubach.

Ancestors: Grandfather, August former German citizens, came through Quebec, Canada, moved to Wisconsin; named "Gustave" served in Civil War from Wisconsin; moved to Minnesota about 1867; had 6 children with Charlotte Thom. Son Theodre Thom had 10 children with Berta Daunicht. She moved and maybe Theodore, moved to Center, North Dakota when William Thoms was a baby just after August 1900.

I am trying to find surnames of Janssen, Hinrichs, Diers, Harries, Schaefer, and (Forden ??) from Oldenburg, Germany who came to Tazewell - Mason Co. IL area before 1884. I have Johann Gerhard Diers family who emigrated in Feb. 1890. They lived at Benson, Woodford Co. IL (Source: Naturalization Papers filed in Nobles Co. Minnesota), but have recently found other above listed surnames lived around San Jose, IL near the county line.

I am looking for a connection between the Diers of Carbondale,IL. and the Fowlers of Centralia, IL.
In an article anouncing the 90th birthday in 1935, of Reuben G.Fowler there is mentionof Mr. and Mrs. Henry Diers and daughter Faye of Carbondale who attended the occasion.I beleive that Mrs. Diers was a daughter of Reuben's.
Reuben and Clara Belle (Dille) Fowler had ten children. These are the daughters I have no information on as to their marriages.Carrie May, Lottie Viola and Mabel C. Fowler. Mabel was a twin of Myrtle S.Fowler.

My husband great great grandmother was Moriah Ann Diers. She was born 1-1-1818 in Charleston County, South Carolina. They say that her mother came from England.
She married a John Sanders Neighbors around 1835. He was a good bit older than her. I think that he met her around Laurens, S.C.. Theymoved to Flordia and then to North Carolina were both of the is buried the Neighbors Family cemetery. Any information on her parents or sibling would be greatly appreciate. I do not have specific information on the Diers family you are researching unless there is a connection to my grandmother Dora (Diers) Linn. She was born in Germany, 1887 and came with her family to Nebraska, I have information in regards to the family being in Otoe, Nebraska prior to their moving to Cumberland, Wiscosnin. Dora was the daughter of William John Diers and Elizabeth Marie Clausen, she had several siblingsthat included, Henry Dires, Lena Diers, William Diers, Fredrick Diers, Sophie Diers, Anna Diers and Marie Diers all bon between 1881 and 1902, all are now deceased but have the name of one of my cousins who i understand is researching this line. I cannot thank you enough for your message about my ancestor Dirktje Diers Ulferts SCHIPPER. Not only did I not know her real name, but I believed her to be from a different, nearby place in Germany that had lost its records in World War II. I am very glad to know that her records survived, and will get to work tracking them down ASAP.
My mother was a Rademaker. I am descended from Dirktje and Tobias RADEMAKER through their son Ulfert, and know a great deal about that branch of the family. I will be glad to share what I know if it is of any interest to you.

Her full name in church records in Groothusen is Dirktje Diers Ulferts Schipper, b. 11/12/1821. She may have been born at Groothusen, as she married there, and her husband and children were all born there. She married Tobias Nankes Rademaker. She died 16/4/1919, and is buried in Green Hill Cemetery, San Jose, IL. I come from a long line of Rademakers, and they are included in my records. I have not looked for her family because it is too remote to me. The additional names and spellings should be accurate, as they came straight to me from there. Bill

I do not haveany directiformation on Dirtje Diers, My grandmother was Doar Diers born Oct. 24, 1887, Hanover, Germany; her parents were William John Diers, May 17, 1935 in Bremen, Germany and died Sept. 19, Comstock,WI, He had 8 children with his wife, Elizabeth MArie Clausen, b. Dec. 17, 1858, Essen, GErmany, died, Nov. 7, 1946, Comsotck, WI I know that they were marrried in Hanover Germany, date unknown. Thier last child, If you need names, dates of their children I have that info, all are now deceased, the last one dying about two years ago at age 98-99. If htis helps let me know

Searching for any information about my gg-grandmother Dirtje DIERS, b. 11 Dec 1821 Osfriesland, Germany; immigrated as young woman to IL, married Tobias Nanke RADEMAKER 1843; d. 16 Apr 1919 Emden, Logan, IL. Know her American descendants but nothing of her parents or other family in Germany. German records destroyed in WWII, so my best hope is in finding distant relative!
