I would be interested in getting some of the Dies lineage information from you if you don't mind. My name is Tommy Dies and I am the grandson of Roy Miller Dies Sr. Roy was the adopted son of Martin Dies Sr. - actually, Roy may have been the biological son of Martin and Nelva (my great grandmother) whom Martin had an affair with and later married, then adopting my grandfather.

I don't find your ancestor listed in my tree. My Dies ancestor came from Detweiller, Bas Rahn, Alsace, France. This area went back and forth between France and Germay. I'm guessing that the original family was German.

What ethnicity were these family members? I am currently searching for my great-great-grandmother named Azema Dies. She was full-blooded Indian and I can't seem to find any records of her at all. If there is the possibility of a connection or if you may have information, please let me know.

I am the daughter of Ernest A. Dies (1) of eight children, who's father and mother were Ernest L. Dies and Elizabeth Ruth Hess, who's father was Joseph who's father was Peter. This has been very interesting. I would like to learn more.

I have an Ernest L Dies born April 1880. His father was Joseph P Dies born June 1853 in Doylestown, Wayne County, Ohio and grandfather was Peter Dies born June 1809 in Dettwiller, Bas-Rhin, France. Joseph P Dies was my great-grandfather's brother.

It seems we are related.

Hi,
I am (1)of (8) kids of Ernest & Pauline Dies of Vermontville, MI. His father was Earnest LeRoy Dies (died in a car accident in the 1930's him and his wife) I am pretty sure that Joseph was his dads name and his Joseph's father was Peter I think?

Hi All:
I am looking for any information on Lydia Dies born New York about 1776. Married Mark Noble about 1803 and relocated to Canada. Children all born in Canada were:
Jane b about 1804, Electa 1806, Horatio 1808, Matthew 1811, Jacob 1813, Elizabeth 1816, Lydia 1819, and Emaline. I am decended from Jane.

My father is Dean Dies from PA. His father was Lester Dies, which was Victor's brother. I have some info on their mother and father, but that is all i can collect. I've been having trouble finding further than that. When we were little we use to visit with Marie alot. Ask her about her cousin Dean.... You emailed me once. Looking for more information on Victor Dias (also spelled Dies) from PA, who later moved to OH. He had a brother named Melvin and a sister named Margaret. His wife's name was Ellen Louise Bosio. They had 7 children; Margaret, Edward, Marie, Joseph, Barbara, Dayton, and Dennis. Margaret (also known as Sissy) passed away the same week and year that Ellen, her mother, died (I believe it was 2000 or 2001). Vick died Christmas morning of 1985. Of the remaining children, Edward (Eddie), Marie, Joseph, and Dennis live in OH... Barbara and Dayton live in NC. Barbara is my mother.

There was a son of "Black Dies" who lived in Beaumont that was named Martin. He had many brothers and sisters. The reason I know is because Julia Dies was his sister and a cousin to my mother in law. She died last year and we really miss her. I wish I had gotten more info from her because my mother in law seems to know or want to tell me about her family. My husband is deceased and he didn't know hardly anything about his cousins. Seems so odd to me since we are all so close.

Anyway, they were originally from LA. Martin Dies that is a lawyer in Orange (as well as his brother) are lawyers and are the sons of Chief Justice Martin Dies of Beaumont who died about 10 or so years ago, I think. He was the son of the congressman Martin Dies who wrote the book on Communist and his brother, Jack Dies, is with the Attornay General Office of TX. I believe they were from LA too.

Are you related to a Red Gilbert, Joseph, Clifford, Iaekial, Andrew, or Julia Dies?

Martin Dies was the grandson of William Wilson Dias/Dies, who lived in Miss-died I think in 1845.William was father to David Wesley Dies, who was grandfather to Martin Sr. David is buried in Freestone Co Tx.

Do you have the names of the 12 Dies children? I believe the two Dies I am looking for Andrew b ca 1857, and Louis b 6/1855, are the sons of Peter and Frances Dies.

Andrew and Louis married Smith sisters. Daughters of my 2nd great-grandfather.

This is my problem, where I am afraid I am getting onto the wrong line. I too have Lovick's father as Thomas Dies, but d. 1845 in Smith Co., TN. I am working off of the premise that he was married to a Kizzy Ventress, b. 1784 in Jones Co., NC, d.1819 in Smith Co., TN. I have Thomas' father as Wilson Dias, b. 1753, d. 1785, married to Ann Gibson, b. 1758, d. 1797. Matilda Johnson is a hard one for me to trace also.
