Going back to my Johannes Diesel I m. to Catherina Cramer both from Wurzbach, Voigtland, Germany, late 1600's; then Johannes Diesel II m to Maria Lind both of Germany, children: Dorothea, Catherine, Sophia, Johann C., Christian Friedrich.

Christian F. DIESEL m. Maria Graser in 1756 and had Phillip, Anna, Maria, Johann A. and Ludwig - all in Germany.

Ludwig DIESEL m. Maria Schneider in 1790 and had Johann Daniel, Johann Andreas, and Johann Ludwig.

Johann Adreas DIESEL m. Louisa KEIFER in Stokey Township, IL and had Louis, Wilhelmina, William, Amelia, John, Minnie, Louisa, Phillip G., Maria Mary Mathilda.

Marie DIESEL m. Charles P. BANGERT in 1865 in Milstadt, IL

There is an interesting book out (got at library) about "Rudolf Diesel, Pioneer of the Age of Power" (diesel engine), by W. Robert Nitske and Charles Morrow Wilson, 1965, Univ. of Oklahoma Press, Norman, OK. There is a chapter that covers some genealogy, and history in story form. Doesn't cover all names of subling, etc, but tells Rudolph's family history roughly 1644 forward.

My husband has a long line of Diesels in his family that lived in Chicago for many years. I am as far back as an August Diesel b. CA 1830 in IL, married to Caroline. Any relation to yours?

I would appreciate any information regarding Rachel's family. I have plenty of Moores to track down.

Do you have any more info on the Diesel's? I have as far back as John's parents if you need it. It was a gift from another kind lady, and I would be happy to pass it along.

It looks like you and I are some sort of distant cousins. I am trying to go back further with my Diesel lines. I, with the help of a very dilligent lady named Kathleen, have been able to come up with info that takes me back to Louis Diesel, the father of your great grandfather.

There was a "book" of information regarding Louis and his children. One of those children was my ggrandfather, Albert Alexander. ( I believe that would make him Johannes' (or John) and Rachel's nephew.

Most of that clan resided in and around Cincinnatti. My clan eventually moved out to California.

I would be happy to share more information with you.

My name is Rob Diesel and I am of the Cincinnatti Diesels. I am one of the last remaining of our family, (hope I have a boy!) and I am trying very hard to track down our family lines. With the help of some great people, I have as far back as Louis Diesel who married Magdalena Hoffman before he died. He is my ggggrandfather.

Have seen you msg and am interested in what you have discovered as have just started looking into the family tree.

My father's family comes from The Netherlands but there are hardly any Diessel's living here.

She was a granddaughter of Phillip Gottlieb
Diesel who was born in Germany but immigrated
to St. Clair County, Illinois. Eva was

This has all been hard to follow, but I have a long list of Diesel's in my line, and the info does state the relative making the Diesel engine (I never put that together)- would like to know more - also have that Diesel was originall Tiesel or Teesel or something and was changed when they came over to America. I have several Johannes Diesel's (1's, 11, 3rd) the earliest being Johannes Diesel 1 with no dob/dod married to Catherine who dod was late 1680's. then Johannes D. 11 who was born same date as mothers death. He died 2/8/1744/45 and m. Maria Catherina Lind born January 25, 1690/91 died December 12, 1771. Among their children is a Johann Christian Diesel - no other info on him. these I have all listed as being from Wurzbach, Voigtland, Germany - think these are the same Johannes?
