My mother's maiden name is Dietz and I have the name traced back to Philadelphia, PA. Also, my grandfather and his family have been living around Cookeville, TN since the mid to late 1800's.

Do you know what part of Germany the Dietz's in Pittsburgh came from?
I am researching the Dietz's in North Eastern Pa. " The Slate Belt ". They came to the U.S. in 1739.

I think you are my Uncle. My father was Walter B Dietz. My mother is Ruth. I met you once at a funeral home in Mt. Oliver Pa at a funeral for a Sharon Lee, ( I think) your daughter(?), maybe 1967,1968 or 1969,Please reply as I would love to see and talk to you. My father had I thin 3 or 4 brothers and you were a policeman?with a sister Alice. Please respond if I have found the correct Ernie.
