BOARDMAN - A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown for Elvera M. Cumbo Rich, 82, who entered Heaven on Oct. 13, 2012, after courageously battling cancer for 18 years.
Elvera was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Dante and Minnie Leone DiFabio.
She was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked in the meat department of Sparkle Markets for 20 years.
Elvera was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She gave of her time, love and delicious cooking to her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Norma (Tom) Kijanka of Poland, Ohio, Joseph (Anita) Cumbo of Las Vegas; adoring grandchildren, Anthony Massaro of Las Vegas, Dena (Tyler) Williams of Las Vegas, and Samuel, Katie and Matthew Cumbo of Indiana; and brothers, Nick (Carol) DiFabio of Austintown, Ohio and Robert DiFabio of Poland, OH; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Cumbo; second husband, Frank Rich; son Samuel Cumbo Jr.; as well as her brother, Geno DiFabio; and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth DiFabio and Mary DiFabio.
“Mom, you were the matriarch of our family. You showed us how to live with love, grace, dignity and above all, faith. We will all miss you until we meet again.”
