John D. "Fish" DiFrancesco
Age 85, of Wilm., husband of 44 years to the late Rose Vavala DiFrancesco, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, February 16, 2012.
Son of the late Thomas DiFrancesco and Emma Madonna. John worked at Allied Kid for 34 years and later at Padua Academy before retiring in 1992. John was a long time dedicated volunteer at St. Anthony of Padua including many years at their Italian Festival.
He is survived by his son Anthony,and his wife Deborah, 2 daughters, Marie Therese Callahan and her husband Tom and Bernadette R. Short and her husband Rob. Two brothers Daniel and Joseph and a sister Christine Roberts. Five grandchildren, Kelly, Angelina, Dario, Robert and Nicole, and his companion Marie Ciaffi.
John's family would like to express their gratitude to his caregiver Carol Camp and Compassionate Care Hospice Staff, especially Niki Morrison.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 20, at 9:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & DuPont St. followed by Entombment in Cathedral Cemetery. Calling hours for Mr. DiFrancesco are Sunday evening from 4 to 6 pm at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union St.
