A. J. Digby died 1848
According to a report in the Augusta [GA] Chronicle, printed 4/27/1848, A, J. Digby died in a battle at the Mexican town of Perote during the US-Mexican War. A J was a member of Company A, Georgia's Battalion of Infantry. Can anyone identify his family? Many Digbys were in middle Georgia at that time. Any help is greatly appreciated.
