DiGiorgio's of Corleone-1700's

Bernardo Di Giorgio was born about 1790 in
Corleone, Palermo Province, Sicily.
He married Vincenza SAPURITO who was also
born in Corleone about 1762. They had at least
one daughter, from whom I descend:
Mattia Di Giorgio, born abt. 1789 in Corleone.
Mattia married Nicolo PETTA, who was born
in Piana dei Greci (now Piana degli Albanesi)
on September 7, 1757. They were married
on September 16, 1812 in Piana.
To them were born at least three children:
Domiano PETTA born March 2, 1818
Vincenzo PETTA born January 21, 1821
Giorgio PETTA born September 12, 1823
I have a database with 2700 related names. Some of the names
include: PETTA, BALSAMO, RANDAZZO, RUSSO..many from the
Milwaukee, Wisconsin area..if your Italian/Arberesh side is smaller,
perhaps you could send me some of the surnames you are interested in???

These are the major surnames in my database...hope this helps. Are you
a member of P.O.I.N.T.? It stands for "Pursuing Our Italian Names
Together". I have been a member for 4 years and it has been very
helpful to me. They also have local chapters and meetings which are
called "Pointers in Person" (PIP).
There is a PIP meeting in Milwaukee at 11:00AM at the Italian Community
Center. I am taking my dad with me this time. Annually the POINT group
publishes a directory with the names of people who are researching,
their addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses (what ever
way the wish to be contacted). This directory is set up to cross research
by surname, and town of origin. Quarterly, they publish a small magazine
which I find very interesting..lots of culture and heritage.
Again, hope I have been helpful. Looking forward to hearing from you,
Susan
