I have Stern, Wilhelm, and Glade/Clade relatives on my Dilges family tree.
I looked through my notes and did not find Theobald Stern, Appollonia Franciska Wilhelm, or Eva Catharina Glade listed in my records. I will keep an eye out for them, as I expand my search. They may be cousins or in-laws, but I just don't have any documentation on them at present.
I would have responded sooner, but I was searching through all my data and still I came up with nothing at this point.
Don Dilges

Thank you for the information....I am sure that Theobald and Appollonia Franciska (Wilhelm) Stern are related to the Dilges somehow. I have continued searching all areas for another year, and I keep returning to Maikammer, Pfalz, Bav, GE....They were born in 1816 and 1818, and married at the Catholic Church in 1840 in Maikammer..There children are named ME Barbara (my gr-gr-gr-grandmother) Christian (maybe 1851), Andreas, born 18 Feb 1947, Maikammer, Joannes (John Jacob), born 24 Feb 1851, with twin Margaretha Stern (same date), Regina, born 25 Jan 1950, Maikammer, and I believe Joseph born around 1853. The ship's manifest does not match the Morman LDS records for ages....I am sure Theobald and Appolonia are tied in somewhere. I think Appolonia was born 21 Jan 1816. I also ran across a marriage of Theobald Stern to Eva Catharina Glade around 1833...First wife may have died adn then he married Appolonia and came to New Orleans from Le Havre on June 2, 1854 on the Athens. Theobald Stern settled in St. Louis, died in 1877...Appollonia, I believe died as soon as she came to America but have no records. Can you help me make a connection. I have to publish this record and this is the only fact I can't figure out. Does anything sound familiar....Thanks so much in advance...I appreciate it all. Mary and Roger Munie

Hi,
I´m Stefan Dilges, born 1963 and I live in Solms/Germany, only a few kilometers away from (Butzbach-)Oes, as far as I know the first place of the Dilges-families in Germany and also my origin.
The name is also very seldom in Germany, there are only a few families, most of them close to Butzbach and Solms.

If you need further informations, don´t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards
Stefan
Looking for Andreas DILGES' childrens' information.

Caspari DILGES & Anna Maria SCHMITT had four children, that I know of, in Maikammer, Pfalz, Bayern.
The children, born from 1790 to 1797, were Catharina, Anna Maria, Andreas, & Nicolaus.

Georgium Jacobum REIFF & Annam Mariam DILGES married and had 3 girls.

Andreas DILGES & Anna Margaretha STERN married and had two daughters (the girls listed them, as their parents on the girls marriage documents) and possibly 3 sons, but I can find no birth or christening records of any children.
They raised the 3 Reiff girls as there own, so they may have adopted the other children too.
Andreas DILGES maybe remarried an Anna Margaretha Schoder, from which the 3 sons were born.
I have had no luck in finding out just which children were born to who, or if a second wife was maybe a clerical error of the first wife's last name.
The children have confirmation records. The children were Apollonia, Eva Margaretha, Anna Rosina, Catherina, Francisca, Friedericus,
Andreas Jacob, & Jacobus.

I'm a desendent of the Andreas Jacob DILGES, who moved to Milwaukee WI by 1854. He claimed his parents were
Andreas DILGES & Anna Margaretha STERN.

Nicolaus DILGES & Elisabetha SCHMITT married. I believe they moved to the Cincinati OH area in the 1850's, as they were on the 1860 US Census.

Anybody out there have information on these families?
