Diller near Phila., PA in early 1900's

I'm looking to find info that I can trace back to by grandparents, John George Wilkinson and Elizabeth Jane Gallagher. Elizabeth's parents were Elizabeth Frances Diller and John Gallagher. We also know that Elizabeth Diller's father was George Diller, and we believe either his wife or his wife's mother's maiden name was Entwistle (Entwhistle?). Any info would be much appreciated.

Leah Diller from Pennsylvania 1866 - 1914

Do anyone know anything about a Leah Diller from Pennsylvania 1866-1914? She married Thomas W. Neal and moved to Kansas. All I know about her is that she spoke German. I believe she and her parents were born in Pennsylvania though (according to census records). Does anyone know her parents? I can't find any information on her.

I am looking for any information on Anna Regina Diller who married Heinrich Höfer from Ahlstadt, Germany.

Here is what I know:

- She was born abt. 1839.
- She married Heinrich Höfer (probably in Germany).
- In Philadelphia, they spelled thier last name as "Hoefer".
- They had 9 children: Anna Margaret, Bruno, George, Rose, Kate, Emil Albert, Clara Carolyn, Marie Laura, and Henry Jr.

I have census data records for them starting in 1880. Henry and his children were saw makers.

I'm trying to find the connection to any siblings, or parents in Germany.

Any information would be great.

Thanks,

Ken Houseman
My husband's grandmother always said that her family was related in some way to General William T. Sherman. We recently found that her mother's maiden name was Sherman. She married a George G. Diller. Laura Sherman died in 1901 at the age of approx. 31. Does anyone know of Laura and how she may have been related to General Sherman? We are new to the genealogy game and are not really sure where to start. Thanks for your help!

Admin Please Answer (? adding attach of Diller Pass.)

Am posting to the board but noticed this also populates mailing list.

On a mailing list I'm on they now automatically strip all attachments (good idea - better a minor inconvience than a major disaster-ie Bugbear).

Can I attach to a post here ?

In digging in my old stuff found a photocopy of the original Franz Tueller passport. It was copied in two parts and I'd love to share.

Also, anyone lurking I'm a NOVICE ( I know that's a shout but that's now new I am). I chose default settings and they came out at 1.97 meg and 1.85 meg. Any and all advice on how to make more transferable .jpgs is more than welcome.

I have an HP Scanjet 3570c, with an HP photo editor program. I have 4 options for scanning - Text & graphics as image, Text as image, Editable text and Editable text with graphics.

For these I choose #1 Text & graphics because it seemed the default settings would produce a better image. #1 = 200 ppi, millions of colors and 24 bit ; while #2 = 200 ppi, 256 gray shades and 8 bit grayscale. I wanted to try 3 or 4 because
they had 200 ppi but I kept losing the scan.

(After Roberts death the family sent the original, along with an old family Bible, to the Simthsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.)

If I can't attach here just email me direct and I'll send. Or if someone knows of some place I can post let me know.

David

Peter GOOD died Cumberland Co,Pa 1807

I'm trying to sift and sort by linking allied families ; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The eldest daughter of Peter Good (Guth) of Lancaster County / Cumberland County married the youngest son of Francis Diller (Frantz Tueller).

Just looked at the online versions of "The History of Lancaster County" by Dr. Frederick Klein (1924) and at "The People of Bowmansville" by Charles D. Spotts (which appears to be based on the earlier work).

Both state that the Peter Good who moved to Cumberland County (and died 1807) was the son of Jacob Good who arrived in 1732. And settled 2 1/2 miles from the above Francis Diller.
Compelling.

However, I noticed that aboard the ship Phoenix, which brought Francis Diller and his family in 1754, there is a "Peter Guth."

I've read that Mennonite persecution was at a high then and colonialists sent people to bring new families to America.

Does anyone know if the Peter Guth aboard the Phoenix in 1754 was the son of Jacob and went "home" to bring others back ; or was he a seperate and different Peter Guth ?

Thanks
David Knowles

DILLER - KEINADT (later family name, COINER) - FABER

Margaret DILLER, born circa 1734 and died 18 Nov. 18?3. She was the daughter of Casper DILLER, may have died between 1770-1775. Margaret married Michael KEINADT. (Later that family's surname became COINER.) They had a son, Philip COINER, Sr., born 21 Jan. 1777. We think Philip married Catherine FABER or FAWBER on 5 or 8 Mar. 1798.
I hope someone has more information about Casper DILLER, his wife, Margaret DILLER and Catherine FABER or FAWBER.
