My line is as follows: Lawrence Dills born in England. Thats all I know about him. His son Peter b. 1720, His son Thomas b. 1745 Rutherford County, His son Bartlett Jasper b. 1770 in Rutherford. His son Thomas Dills b. 1795 in Rutherford. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth Martin had a son William R. Dills b.1819. William married Mary McGaha 1842 in Macon County,NC. They had a son John T. Dills b.1850 in Georgia and he married Margaret Garrett. They had a son James Lucious Dills b. 1875( my grand father) who married Callie Smith( my Grandmother). They had a daughter Catherine Pauline Dills my mother who married Robert Ray Byrd. We are probably kin. Do you know anything about Lawrence? Any information would be appreciated. I am seeking information about the family names shown in the subject line relative to Harry Dills, Maggie Brockman, Lestor Dills, Matilda B Casey or others.

I have a census record that shows Harry and Lilly Dills as orphans. Maggie was Harry's wife and they lived in Maplewood, Missouri.

Matilda Casey dob is 3 Dec 1882, but we have no maiden name for her although we do remember some relations of Jett, Black and Lee in central Missouri.

Abbie Dills was married to Sidney Dills who was Callie's uncle. She move to Georgia with the other Dills but Sidney did not. Abbie name was Margaret Abigail Brooks was the sister of Tina (Christina Brooks) Dills. Tina was married to Merritt S. Dills another uncle of Callie.

Abbie died 27 Mar 1920 and was buried in the Old Dogwood Cemetery.

Also buried there is Barlett and Nancy (Patton) Dills and Merritt S. and Tina Dills.

I think I may have some info on your family. I have been trying to connect my great-grandfather Zeb Dills to your Zeb Dills for some time now. My g-grandfather Zeb Dills married Addie Dills( distantly related). They had one child together but shortly after my grandfather was born Zeb left her and no one knows what happened to my Zeb Dills. I have a lot of stuff on your family since I have been trying to connect your Zeb to my Zeb for awhile.

Zeb and Minnie May (Bunch) Dills are my g grandparents, as listed on my grandparent's wedding cert.
I cannot find any confirmed documents of either of them, and can't trace back any further on this side. My grandma's name was Ella Marie Dills B. 1926, and she had a sister, Tina and a brother John. We are part Indian through this part of the family.

Anyone have any info on them?

Looking for any info on Stephen D. KNAPP born October 07, 1778 in Vermont. Married Catherine (???) born November 20, 1789 in New York, they married 1805 in New York. Stephen died January 20, 1865 in Porter, Niagara Co. New York, buried in Tower Cem. Catherine died May 20, 1870 in Porter, Niagara Co. New York. Buried Tower Cem. 10 children 7 girls, 3 boys. My line is Margaret Knapp Mc Grath, June 11, 1821 in Youngstown, Porter Co. New York, married to James Mc Grath/McGraw, July 12, 1810 in Canada. They married in 1835, in Lockport, Niagara Co,. New York. James died in August 19, 1877, in Oak Harbor, Ottawa Co, Ohio, Margaret died April 27, 1883 in Oak Harbor, Ottawa Co, Ohio. Mc Grath lines in Oak Harbor, Ottawa Co, Ohio, to the Phillips, Miller line, Ottawa Co, or Lucas Co. Ohio.

Hi, Laurie, I have quite a bit of information on the Dills family. I saw something the other day that listed her name as Mary Caroline Dills. Although she went by Callie. I have a copy of her obituary, she is listed there as Callie Hardy.
Her father's name was Neil Richmond(I have also found other spelling's for that name). My e-mail is now viktorrocks@yahoo.com

I also am trying to learn more on the Dills Family. The census' I am finding seem to use a lot of initials rather than complete names which is making it difficult. I did find that I believe she also went by Mary Dills in her earlier life though.
Jeff Wood's wife, Laurie Jeff is Helen's son, helen is Frank hardy's daughter.

I do know our great grand mother was Mary Caroline "Callie" Dills so maybe Abbie was her sister or mother? If you know please let me know and I'd be happy to share this scanned photo with you of Abbie. I was told by our uncle that Callie was Cherokee Indian. Thank you

There are LOTS of Dills! I have 2 Bartlett Jasper Dills, one who was married to Susan Hensen and his son married (3)? times, Easter Parres, Nellie Harris and Fannie Parres. I have so many different names of both Bartlett Jasper Dills children. Did Bartlett Jasper Dills(susan Hensen) have a son JR? Which has the 14 children? I'm in contact with Charles E. dills now. My connection is Joseph Minar married Catherine Murtaugh and her sister Mary J. Murtaugh was married to Clark Dillsm that is Charles Dills son. I live in st. Paul and I will be connecting this all at the Mn History Center soon.
Dills and John Murtaugh were in the Civil war.

I may be grasping at straws here, but here goes.... I am looking for information regarding Jennie Dills (my great grandmother on my dad's side of the family). The only info I have on her is that she was born in Paintsville, KY sometime in the late 1800's (possibly around 1880, the man she married was born in 1884). She married a man names Charles Martin Franklin. That is all of the info I have. If anyone can help fill in the gaps, I would apprectaite it.

Need help with a Dills line. Claude Ray Davis' (born 1917 in NC) mother was Callie/Carrie Dills from Dillsboro. No one knows who Claude's father was. Carrie/Callie married Paul Johnson around 1925 and had several children (Paulina Johnson Williams, Nena, Nannie, and Floyd). Paul is buried in Winston-Salem, NC but have no clue of Carrie/Callie and their children. I heard that at one time they lived in Gastonia and then moved to Chesapeake, VA. You could do some searches under William Dills - Born 1750 and married Rebecca Buis 16 Mar 1773 in Guilford Co. NC who died in Tazewell Co. VA, as that man has lots of people researching his family. Rebecca Buis was born 1753 in Rowan, NC and died after 1792 in Tazewell, VA. Could this be some of what you may be searching for?

My great-grandmother Addie was Henry Harrison Dills and Henrietta Nichols daughter. My family has always said that they were Cherokee in there somewhere but I have never found out where. You have probably found your person by now, however, I am a descendent of the dills from North Carolina and most of my relatives live in Washington and Oregon. There was a Don Dills living in Cottage Grove, Oregon. He passed away a few years ago. However, his Mother is still living. Her name is Ruth and He may have some children as well. I know he has a brother Phil and a brother Jerry. Whether he served in the military or not, I don't know. He would have been old enough I believe to have served in WWII.

I am looking for any info on Zeb Dills. He would have been born between 1860-1880. He was supposedly my grandfather (Henry Benbow Dills) dad.Benbow's mother was Addie Dills( Henry Harrison Dills daughter). Her family was all originally from Macon Co, NC and Rutherford Co. She first married Jim Beck. My grandfather was born in young harris Ga. Although I have found a few Dills who lived in Union Co or neighboring counties I can't find a Zeb Dills. I have a feeling that Zeb was a close relative to Addie because of the last names being the same. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In our mother's old photos I have a old photo on the back it says Abbie Dills. I believe Abbie would have been from NC or TN or GA.

some of my Dills came here. I'm just starting this line so am still piecing this together. Does he have a brother named Cornelius or is there one close to that date? They have my family spelled in some places as Dilts, and I know for sure it's spelled Dills. I have an old bible where it was Dills.

Looking for any information about Philip Dils who was born abt 1735 in NJ, possibly the son on Henrich Dils. Other siblings of Philip had the name spelled Dilts? Philip married Mary Hoffman in NJ. They had at least one child, Ann (or Anny), born 1763, who married William Lyons and ended up in Fayette Co., PA.
