Looking for information on William Dilmore/Dillmore who married Mary Von Norbeck. She died in 1890 and is burried in Fernwood Cemetery, Yeadon, PA. Their daugter, Mary (May) married Theodore Mitchell on Dec. 25, 1861.

I'm sorry... This one is more precise. I accidentally put Mitchell Dilmore underneath Melvin's children which Mitchell was actually Melvin's brother. I hope this post is better understood.

You omitted the name of one of John J. and Elizabeth (Patrick) Dilmore's children. Her name was Rhoda Cornelia and she was born August 6, 1881 and died in Polkville, MS (Smith Co.) January 1978.
She was my great-grandmother. She married George William (Will) Phillips around 1896. She had six children, one being my grandfather Lora L. Phillips.

My great-grandmother was a daughter of John J. and Elizabeth. Her name was Rhoda Corneila and she was born August 6, 1881in Smith county and lived in Polkville, MS. She married George William Phillips in 1896. She had six children. She died on January 21, 1978.

That would be John Dilmore b. about 1775. married
Nancy Parrish b. about 1778. John was in the 1800 census for Kershaw Co., S.C. Listed as John Tilmore.

Has anyone found Thomas' parents in Ireland or Scotland? I heard from a Delmore that her ancester Luke came from Roscommon Ireland in 1844 and probably had a cousin Thomas. He named a son Thomas. They landed in New Orleans.

Jackie,

The earliest I can find is a Richard Dilmore/Dalmore/Delmar/Dillmore/Dilimore (last name shows up different in various places) who apparently came to America from Northern Ireland around 1820. His Mother's maiden name may have been McAiden. She may have moved to Northern Ireland from Scotland. I have no infromation on his Father.

Hi Garry,I would be interested to hear if any of your family members on your Dilmore tree originate from England probably London. I have been doing the Dillimore tree and so far go back to theearly 1700's. I know several of them did go to America, Australia and New Zealand. I would love to hear from you to see if we do possibly have an early conection.

I have information about members of the Dilmore family from central NY state. Most of my information is from the 1960s and might not add to what you already have, but I am willing to share it. It contains names of family members from the mid-to-late 1800s. Many were residents of the Elmira and Horseheads area.
