I accidentally found these messages, I know a little more than Maria about somethings, I didn't know Leroy he died long before I was born, Earl keith sr was my father, Leroy died in the 50's or 60's in Nebraska City I believe. He used to paint churches and work on grain elevators. My one sister met vera by accident one day in Omaha when her car broke down and was told to leave when vera found out she was my dads daughter. Vera has more kids we met some of them at our dads funeral, I believe dads sister died in Iowa, I was told she was shot. My mom knows somethings to so if you have more questions I can try to get answers my email is fhng_26@yahoo.com

Hi, I just replied to Maria Diltz's post (check it out for more info). My father is William Clinton Diltz, he is your grandfather's younger brother. I think I called or mailed a letter to your dad once (in 1990) by mistake. I was trying to get ahold of Keith Sr. My dad had 5 children. Stewart, Kim (me), Sandra, Yvette and Jeremy. We are 47 - 32. My dad is retired Air Force. He joined when he was 17 so he could get out of Boys Town. If you could answer any questions re: your great grandfather I would appriciate it. I don't have very much information on any of the Diltz family history, my dad says he doesn't remember much. Their mother Vera sent them away when he was 5 or 6 I guess. If you know anything about Vera Kearns I would be interested in that info too. Thanks ~ Kim

Hi, This is strange communicating several years after your message was posted. Well any ways, I hope you check back and see this. My brother Stewart posted the 2000 message re: Diltz in Nebraska. My name is Kim our father is William Clinton Diltz. He just turned 68. His brother was Keith (Earl), their sister is Roberta. My dad never did know what became of Roberta. My dad and your were in Boys Town together. Vera and her husband came and visited us a couple of times in Washington State. My dad and mom went to Nebraska in 1989 for my then 12 year old brothers baseball championship games. My dad's half brother Ronnie had recently been told by Keith that they were actually half brothers. I guess Vera keep that from them all theses years. Your father contacted me when our mother, Sharon, died in 1990. She had been the one that keep in contact with Vera. I am interested in any pictures or information on my dad's father. Dad said he really doesn't remember him. I would also like a picture of Keith Sr. Our mother Sharon was Tsimpshian Indian from Metlakatla Alaska. I have always thought LeRoy Diltz was full German but I really don't know. We say we are half Tsimpshean and half German. I would appriciate futher information. Thanks ~ Kim

Dave Dilta acquitted of murdering Henry Estes

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 5 November 1903, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

DILTZ ACQUITTED OF MURDER CHARGES

Taloga: Dave Diltz has been acquitted fo the charge of killing Henry Estes last spring. The tragedy in which Estes lost his life took place in the western part of the county. The prosecution, as it seems, failed to show that under any pretext anybody had been killed, and in that shape the case went to the jury, which was unable to give any other verdict. The verdict seems to satisfy the people generally.

Francis Dilts/diltz / Sarah Rhodes

Sarah Stouller m. Henry Rhodes, Jr. in 1828 in Montgomery Co., OH. Henry died in Dec. 1830. They had two sons in 1830, but one died at about the same time as Henry. Sarah (Sally) re-married to Francis J. Diltz/Dilts in 1836 in Montgomery Co., OH, and in 1850 they are in Staunton Twp., Miami Co., OH alongside the Henry Rhodes, Sr. family. They have a son William B. Dilts, b. 1830, who may have been Sarah's son by Henry Rhodes, Jr.
Others have noted that Francis had married Mary Gustin in 1829 (in Warren Co., OH) and had three children. Other than Wm. B., none of the others in 1850 were born before 1836. Does anyone have info that Wm. B. was the s/o Francis or am I correct that he was the s/o Sarah?

Andrew Diltz, son of Peter K., had a son Leroy, who had a son Daniel, who had a son, Don Sr., who had a son, Don Jr., who fathered me in 1974. It seems that the last 4 generations have had just one son to pass along the family name since Andrew, who had Harley and Leroy and maybe another one. I was curious...Is William's father then William Sr. and then his father John and back to Johann from Urbach Germany...and if so are they the same ones in Warren Co., New Jersey back in the 1700's

Peter Kellerman Diltz is the Son of William Dilts/Diltz and Margaret Kellerman(Callerman) They moved to Ohio (Richland Co) where Margaret died. Some children stayed in the Ohio area. William remarried a Hannah Kell 6-5-1846 in Richland Co Ohio. They moved to Iowa (originally on their way to the gold fields) and lived and died in Cedar County Iowa I think they are buried at Woodbridge Cem near Tipton I have confirmation on burial but am typing this from memory. William had 17 children between the two wives.
Census show that Peter K's wife Elizabeth Maurer was born in Penn too but have not been sucessful in finding any information on her family yeat.
Peter and Elizabeth are buried at the Troy Mills Cemetery in Buchanan County.
Let me know how you are related
Cathy

Hello Jim
Peter K was my ggggrandfather through his daughter Lucinda.
Lucinda first marriage was to Irvin Betzer. I do not have any proof that he was born in PA except from census. Peter K and Eleizabeth Maurer were married in Cedar County Ia before moving to Buchanan Co Ia. around the Troy Mills area.
Who do you decend from. Irvin died around the age of 21 so their are only two sons from Lucinda'a first marriage, but their are several children from her marriage to Elam Martin.
I have received much information from a decendent of Peter K who still lives in the area. I am not sure what information I can help you with but will be glad to share what I have.
We started having reunions last year for the first time in sbout thirty years,(long before I was interested in genealogy) and this year we will be holding it July 17 in Anamosa Iowa.
Let me know what I can help you with
Cathy

Emily's mothers name was Della, maiden name Smith
Della was married to a man with the name Fletcher I don't know if Fletcher was the first name or last name. Emily's mother later married Alvin W. Thompson, Della died in Sacamento, CA 2-3-57 the obit reads-"In this city Della Elizabeth Thompson, beloved mother of Emily Diltz, loving grandmother of Judy Goodge. Survived by two great grandchildren." The only information I have is that Emily Diltz was in Abeline, TX in 1957 the address 103 Kentucky Abeline, TX. I was told that address was on the Dyress A.F.B. Abeline,TX Emilys mother Della Smith was in the 1900 census Ventura county CA with her father Riley J. Smith sister Pearl Smith living in the home of her aunt Frances McNulty. Emily has family in Colorado who is having no luck in finding her or her daughter Judy Goodge.
Thank you
Sharon

Where is Diltz

One of my forefathers was, supposedly, born in Diltz, Germany in the 1600's. However, I have been unable to locate such a place. I was wondering if there could be a correlation between the surname Diltz and the place name Diltz. If any of you can shed any light on this I would be greatly indebted. Thanks

Charles E. Rey
