Not sure if this is the same line, but we have traced our ancestors back to Wales with the surname Dymok. Originally settled in this country in Lyme, NH as a blacksmith and the surname spelling was changed to Dimmick. It was at some point misspelled as Dimick on a legal document and was apparently easier to change the name than change the document. My great-grandfather came to Birmingham, AL from MA to become a partner in a cast iron foundry called American Casting Company and my family has continued here. My grandfather went back North to school at Wooster Academy and Wooster Polytechnic in MA, returning to Birmingham and later starting his own cast iron foundry known as Dimick Casting Company. My grandfather was Dan B. Dimick III, he had sisters named Phyllis, Edith and Elizabeth and his father was Dan B. Dimick II and mother was Elizabeth Clark Dimick.
