Alfie, I bet you don't remember me. My name is Lisa my Mom and Dad are Ray and Gloria Mayotte. Any way I live in Orford NH which is one town north of Lyme where Gramma Pepper was born. My daughter goes to school with a boy named Dimick , who as it turns out is like my third cousin once removed. Anyway his uncle has traced this line of the Dimicks back to the first Dimick in this country who immagrated here from the UK. He is making me copies of documents and photos would you be interested in receiving copies from me ? I know where Gramma was born ( its just a cellar hole now but it is still there) and where gggrandparents are buried etc. contact me to let me know where to send info. Take Care! one more thing ggrandmothers mother was named Delia

I have the Alan Dimick Genealogical notes on tne Dimick Families in North America dated 6/21/1996. In the back is a section Dimick's without connections. I found members of our line in this group but have not been able to make a connection to all of Alan's Dimicks.

I was in contact with Alan Dimmick years ago and he was unable at that time to give me any information on our line.
I have looked at the information re: our Erastus, and there's no informaiton on this site about him. And I believe that there must have been more than one Elisha as the birthdates are wrong on the family information we have for him. Thanks for your input tho. I wonder if the DIMICK book is still for sale.

I checked our genealogy book for both Erastus and Elisha but the birth dates were different as well as the state. One was from Conn. and the other Main. We have a very large book that was sent from Alan Dimick years ago with all the Dimmicks/Dimick/Dimmock that he knew about. Don't know if he has an e-mail or not. He's fromBirmingham Al.

I should have mentioned that Hattier Dimick Spicer remarried and when she passed away was hattie Willey (I always heard it pronounced with a long I, though) and her husband was Noice. I have discovered some letters from Hattie and a number of Christmas cards to her. And I have correspondence from Grace. There is also a family member who remains in my memory as Cora Alice, but the last name is not clear - could have been either Dimick or Spicer, but I never heard it mentioned.

I would love to know if you have more information on the orphanage as well as an "adopted" sister to Grace and Georgia named Lillian (eventually Lillian Seaton), whose history is not clear. Lillina was in close ocntact with all and lived in Rochester, NY but died in Colorado because she went to a nursing home.

Kathleen

Hattie Dimick Spicer was the mother of my grandmother, Georgiana Spicer Hull. Thus Hattie was my great grandmother. Grace Spicer Rolfe was my great aunt, my mother Nora Hull March's aunt because she was sister to Georgiana.

Of course you know this, Barb, since we've corresponded. however, I actually did not know that Aunt Grace was raised in an orphanage.

I've found quite a few connections for the Spicers/Dimicks. Have you also since you posted this query?

Kathleen
Roxie,
Noticed on your list of names that you have FISH..... my grandmother's sister, Nellie was married to a FISH. You don't happen to be descended from her do you?????? Nellie would have been a daughter of Charles and Mary Dimick in Columbia City, Whitley Co., IN. Bev. in Ohio

Sorry. None of these names hook up with my research. It's really uncanny tho that the area is so common. I'll keep working, and you do the same, and maybe....
Nell Louise was born 1873 in Larwille, Whitley Co., IN to Chas. Horace & Mary Louisa TINKER DIMICK. She first m. a Mr. JOHNSON, then Elliott SEVISON, had son Robt., then married Mr. FISH. She passed away in the late 1940's or early 1950's with the last name FISH. They lived around Constantine, St. Joseph Co., MI. I have researched all the FISH lines on the net, and can come up with nothing. I'm suspect that her first husband, Mr. JOHNSON might have been a brother to her brother, George Dimick's wife, Alice JOHNSON. Bev.

I have just started researching the Augustus Right Dimick family that settled in Hubbard, Oregon. My son-in-law is a descendant of Augustus through his daughter Olive who married William Van der Walker. I have accessed the Hubbard Cem. list, the description of the trip west via wagon train. I have copied a news article by Fred Lockley about the family. I have worked out family relationships with help of WorldSearch. But there is little about Olive or her sister. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have found much information about Willam Vanderwalker's children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his wife Olive Dimick Vanderwalker and her father Augustus Right Dimick. They were pioneers in Oregon, arriving in 1847. Later several of their children moved to California, then Arizona. What line do you come from? My son-in-law is from the daughter of William and Olive, Mary Vanderwalker, married (first) to Perry B. Smith. I have not been able to find anything about William Vanderwalker when he was in New York. Have you?
This is my e-mail address: chrisawyman@yahoo.com
