I appreciate your reply and feel there could be a strong connection between these families

from your findings, It looks as though the dimmits and the beesons have a history

maybe they married cousins

I am glad you found a connection with Richard Beeson & Abigail Dimmit

although I I have abner beeson married to another

I am sure it doesnt limit him to only having had one marriage

I lack the knowlage to back up any claim for or against your finings I am eager to find out more too

any thing is possable although I hope to find a true line of decent or of ancestery

please include me on any new finds in regards to this toppic

Daniel,
Wow, how ironic is this? In my tree, I have a Susannah Dimmitt b. abt. 1788 in Knox Co, TN. d. 5 Feb 1821 Randolph, NC. She married Abner Beeson. I had no further info on Abner, but now I do. He is son of Richard Beeson & Abigail Dimmit. I do not have this Abigail Dimmit in my tree. I will do some looking around for records. The above is only what I think, nothing to prove it yet. I will see if I can find out who Abigail's parents were and some records to back up what I think. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on this...Teri Dimmett.
You can see the Dimmit (etc) family at:
http://www.TiesThatBind.1hwy.com

This is supposedly my ancestors. I have Jacob Dimit Married to Sidney Buckey. My line desends from James Bell Dimit. His Daughter Lelia Permalia Dimit Married Fredrick W Thompson in Washington. Then moved to Oregon where they had a son Jack Smith Thompson - My Grandfather. So Jacob Dimit would be my 3rd Great Grandfather. I'm stuck on Jacob Dimit and can not go back in the generations any further. Do you have any info on his parents? I found several of the census images for Jacob Dimit and James Dimit. The last name is wrong in the search sometimes it's Dimmet, Dimitt, Dewit. I am guess Jacob Dimit must have passed between 1860 and 1870 probably in Virginia since I am not findint him on any of the census for 1870. You can Email me at Ashalen@hotmail.com I'd like to hear the information you've found.. Thanks!

Carisa

I am researching the Jacob Dimit. At the present time I do not have anything on Benjamin Dimit, as for Jacob Dimit he is my g-great-grandfather. I have been searching this Dimit line for about nine years. Jacob Dimit was married twice. All I have on his first wife is her first name Elizabeth. Had four children by her. His second wife name is Sydney Buckey, they had several children.
Would like to know what information you are seeking, because I have several Jacob Dimit descendents in my data base. I have Jacob Dimit's war of 1812 service records as well as civil war records of some his descendents.

Gerald Dimit
Brockus/ Dimmit families of White Co., IN
My GGGrandfather George Schriner/Schreiner was born in 1828 in Allegheny Co, PA. He was married abt. 1851 to a Litecia/ Leticia Dimmit/Dimit (?) who was born abt. 1828 in Allegheny, PA. They came to White Co., IN between 1854-1856. They had 4 children George, b. 1854 PA, Lavina, b. 1856 IN, Samuel, b. 1858 IN, John, 1860-61 IN. They are shown living in Jackson Twp., White Co. in the 1860 census. After 1860 Litecia disappears, and George is found remarried to a Nancy Brockus on Dec. 7, 1865 in White Co. They are shown in the 1870 Census living in Jackson Twp., White Co. with 2 children Sarah Brockus, b. 1856 and Elias W. Brockus, b. 1858. George's children were living with other families in White Co., Samuel was with the John York family, living next door to George and Nancy, and John was living with the Peter Carnahan family.
I'm pretty sure this Nancy Brockus was married to an Elias Brockus. Elias died about 1859, as he does not appear in the 1860 Census with Nancy and the children. However, Nancy is living next door to a William Brockus. Is this Brockus family related to Sophia Dimmit and John Brockus? If so, does anyone have any information on a Litecia/ Leticia Dimmit marrying a Schriner/ Schreiner?
Any help would be helpful, as you can clearly see...I'm confused by this great big mess! Thank you in advance...and feel free to contact me personally at kiwibeme@ameritech.net
