Hi Karin!

I was so excited to hear from you!!

Tomorrow, I will dig out my Budd file and go more deeply into all of this.

From memory, Aaron Budd and Phoebe Ogden, his wife, and children lived in Pike Co., Illinois; Aaron Budd died in 1848, I believe, and at different periods of time Phoebe and the adult children moved to other regions. Three sisters and one unmarried brother went to Oregon by wagon train, after Aaron's death, Phoebe moved to Oregon. It appears that some of the children remained in the Midwest. MY BRANCH, Daniel Budd (b PA 1818-1890 Lamar Co. Texas ) and Ruth Jane Potter (born in Lancaster Co., Pa and died in Archer Co., Texas- Pennsylvania Dutch) and children moved to Lamar Co., Texas around 1850.

Mainly what I was trying to do, in the original query, was to locate descendants of all of the children of Aaron Budd and Phoebe Ogden, so that I could collect any history they might know and share what I know.

This may surprise you!! Daniel Budd was shot by a drunken hired hand, received no medical attention, and died of gangrene. A number of family members have tried to find records of this event, but the newspaper burned and I am just guessing that no charges were pressed; so no trial. I have never heard of a trial. However, family members from West Texas and Lamar Co. area knew of the event; his childrens' generation, so I am sure that it did happen. I just remembered, a relative whose mother lived in the home when it happened, relayed the story to me; I have that relative's written note telling of the event.

OH!! I would love to know what the family Bible states!!

I will send more information, tomorrow!

Thank you so much, Karin!

Nancy
