Still seeking information on other early Dingfelders in Rochester, including Friedrich Dingfelder, and Rosina Dingfelder who married Gottlieb Wahl. I have posted a tree fragment on descendants of Andreas Dingfelder here on ancestry.com.

Now I am looking for a cheap way to publish a book-length narrative on the genealogy of my great grandfather, Wilhelm Dingfelder and my great grandmother, Elisabeth Hoffman. I am now in contact with descendants of their kinfolk in Bavaria.

This thread is brief and cryptic. There is a Dorothy and a Christine.
If you are still in the Rochester area, perhaps we could compare ancestor charts. I would like to know how the Dingfelders here were related ca 1870. We may have a common ancestor. You may e-mail me or call.
Bill Wykoff
236 Trafalgar St
Rochester, NY 14619

328-9716 tel.
mwwykoff@rochester.rr.com

Dear Michelle,
Sorry I am now living in Rochester, NY.(not Minnesota). My grandfather was born here 11 Jan 1876, and then moved with his parents to Corry, Pa. I am collecting tidbits about Dingfelders in Rochester, but don't have a lot. Good luck on the Minnesota family. I do believe all the Dingfelders originated in Mittelfranken, Bavaria. If you have any information going back to the small village, Schornwesiach, let me know.
Best wishes,
Bill Wykoff

I am seeking information on the family of my great grandfather, Wilhelm Dingfelder, who was born 1844 in Bavaria and married Elizabeth Hoffman in Rochester 1873. I surmise he had Dingfelder contacts already in Rochester before he immigrated. I am particularly interested in knowing if I have any living relatives in the greater Rochester area. I have recently moved to Rochester.
William Wykoff
Ann O'niell was a neice to our Barbara Cora Dinglfelder. It was her married name. It is listed on a letter telling what little tiny bit we now know of the Dingfelders. It is of some importance. Barbara had a sister who lived in Marquette Michigan, they moved away when Barbara died in childbirth.
They had lived next door or with the Giesrsgen's (I think they owned the place but didn't like John Giesregen who married his cousin/or niece who was past married to an Ely Giesregen) She had children as well prior to the marriage. It still is very confusing. I did write St. Peters in Marquette and got the death info about Barbara. There is also an Ino Dingfelder buried there( brother??) and another Barbara. The father died in germany Munich area so it can't be him....
Sincerely
Jeannine

Regina Dingfelder was my great great grandmother. I have some information on the family, mainly on her second son Franklin Schnieep and his family. Am I understanding correctly that Clara retained her mother's maiden name after her father's death in 1915 or what, because as far as my research has led me, the rest of the children carried the Schniepp name.

I am not positive how our Dingfelders may be related. My daughters great grandmother was Clara Regina Dingfelder, her mother was Regina Dingfelder who married Michael Schniepp (SP) Reginas parents were John 1843 Bavaria, and Margaretha 1840 Bavaria. Clara married Irwin A. Bruss from Minnesota. I hope this helps, it is certainly a rare name.
Lonnie Fausett
dusty52@rocketmail.com

Hello, I am looking for anyone connected with the Dingfleder's from Munich Germany, My father-in-law's mother's mother was a Barbara cora Dingfelder, she married a john Giesregen in Michigan (he was from Wisconsin) she was from Munich Germany, (((there is also a listing of Ino Dingfelder and Barbara at the cemetary, I do not know if this was the last child or relations of some sort same last name and they are buried in Michigan) she had a sister but I do not even know her name. She had a neice who kept in touch, Mrs. Ann O'neill also of Michigan. )) Barbara died in childbirth. She lived in Marquette Michigan where she is buried. She had 4 biological children before the last one killed her, and had 2 step children from her husbands prior marriage. These boys were step- Oscar and Harvey, one died of the Spanish flu epidemic in Osh Kosh early 1900's leaving a wife and two girls, he was a baker, the second died in WW1 leaving a wife and a son also in Wisconsin. He died in France and the body was never recovered. Her children were Peter, Adam, Edna, and Margaret. The Giesregen John then married another lady and had two or three more children. I would love to hear from anyone who is related to the Dingfelder's of Munich, they had a farm there the Grandfather died from a tree landing on him I guess.
Any leads would be great, also people to work with on this matter, other people researching this area.....Thanks
Jeannine
jgiesregen@yahoo.com
