My mother, Carolyn Frazier Dingler, had this one but we have been unable to locate it. She died in 2003. My father, Harold Dingler, died the first of this month. His wife has yet to allow me to go through things so I do not know if Mother's copy still exists.

His sister (only surviving sibiling)has also expressed interest in having a copy. Does anyone know how I can obtain these?

Hope this helps

I am the Grand son of Edgar O. Dingler's brother Ewald (who we believe to be twins)
Their father is John Dingler you can find out about at Findagrave.com
Their mother was Elise Meerfield. There appears to be a picture of her at Ancetry.com

John's Parents were Daniel Dingler (a nice picture of him can be at Findagrave.com) and Katherine Koch.

I have a few pictures of Edgar and the family. (E-mail me if your interested)
Edgar and his wife Martha W. had 3 children Violet May, Afreed E. and Girdie

We think Edgar was a Barber in Mankato, MN

Katherine Koch is presently the mystery woman, over several years of search for information on her. I haven't found much. We do know she was born in Wadeburg, Kingdom of Bavaria.

Daniel was born in Hesse-Kassel, immigrated to the US in about 1838. He was 16 at the time. He was one of the 5 founders of the town of New Ulm. Both are buried in New Ulm. They appear to have had 9 kids.

Info on George H. Dingler, Vice President of Sun-Y Bottling Company

Good evening, my mother and I while looking through some old papers found some papers that have to do with a company named the Sun Y Bottle Distributing Company, Inc. During my search so far, I have came to the conclusion that the office was located in Macon,Ga. but the actual building was suppose to take construction in Warner Robins, Ga on North Davis Drive. Williams, White and Bazemore Construction Company were the builders. Lindsey C. Williams was the president with George H. Dingler was the vice president. The cola to be produced was Red Rock Cola, Red Rock Ginger Ale and about seven other flavors under the Sun Y South label. If you could provide me with any information on this or any direction of where to look please contact me by email or my mother Glenda at 478-951-6906 . Thank you, Laura Kinkade

Pennsylvania Dingler's

I am trying to locate the ancestor family of a John Dingler(A) b. May 8, 1793,in Berks Co, PA. m. Oct 25, 1820 to Martha Coryell, b Jul 15, 1795 in Lewisburg, PA. He was my GGGrandfather.

Their children were: John C. born in 1823, Joseph J. born 1824, Sarah J, born 1824, Tunison C. born Apr 15, 1826, and Joseph R. born Feb 2, 1836. I don't have the locations of the children's berth.

My thoughts go toward the Johannes Dingler family, but the genealogy of this family gets pretty confusing.

I have an listing of immigrants from Wuerttemburg, pg 48, that List the following information: "Dingler, Johannes (1)-Dagesheim. Clothmaker [Zeugmacher]. Wf. Maria Magdalena, nie Gaertner. Ch. (1) Johannes, b. 9-5-1750. to the "New Land." //John (Johan) Dingler, Queen of Denmark, September 11, 1753, Hinke, I, 517, 519. 3PA, 16, 168. John Dengler, with Jacob and George Dengler, Douglass Tp, Philadelphia Co., Pa, 1782.3PA, 19, 31 : John Dinglers estate, with George Dingler (singler), Easton Tp., Northampton Co., Pa, 1785."

Now the confusion! In a post by Michael Dingler of Dec. 30, 2001 on GenForum, he states that there were two Johannes Dingler's from Germany. The first in 1753 arrived on the Queen of Denmark. (This agrees with the information included above), the second Johannes Dingler arrived in the late 1770's as a Hessian mercenary soldier to fight in the Revolution for the British. Evedently he deserted the British and joined the Americans and later married Nancy Paschall. He died in Georgia.

From a Pedigree Resource File on FamilySearch.org, free family history and genealogy records, I came across the family of John Dingler(B) b. abt 1760 in Sevboldstadorf, Bavaria, Germany. d. Morgan, GA about 1818. His parents were Johannes Dingler & Mary Magdalena/Gaertner (This couple aparently are the same people that came on the Queen of Denmark in 1753). John Dingler(B) apparently had two wives according to this file. The first wife was Eva Christina / Eisenmenger/ They married Sep 16, 1783 in Tulpehocken, Berks Co. PA. They had four children: John George Dengler b. Feb 5, 1786,d. Sep 12, 1860; Catharine Dengler b. Mar 7,1784 in Newmanstown Mill Creek Township Lebanon, PA d. Mar 12, 1846 at same location.; John Jacob Dengler b.Oct 7, 1787 d. Oct 5, 1843.; Elizabeth Dengler b. Mar 2, 1791, d. Jan 17, 1864. This file does not indicate the death date of Christina. His second wife according to the file is Nancy Paschall abt 1782 in North Carolina. They had 9 children and the records of those births are well documented. This family seems to be the subject of the Terry Cowan book, "Dinglers of the South". If I understand the writing in this book Johannes Dingler was born about 1760 in Barvaria, Germany. He was enlisted as a mercenary soldier for the British and came to America sometime between 1776 and 1779. He deserted the British in 1779 and joined the Americans. The campaingne that he was in were in NC and the South. He married Nancy after the war.

Now, if this John Dingler(B) b in 1760 in Germany in the Pedigree Resource file is the same John Dingler or Johannes Dingler mentioned in the Dinglers of the South how can he have the same parents of the Johannes Dingler b 1750 in Germany when they arrived in the US in 1753? My feelings are that perhaps this file is wrong in that this John Dingler(B) is not the same person that married Chsristina Eisenmenger in Berks Co. PA. and that the Johannes (John) Dingler that she married was the Johannes Dingler born in 1750 and came to America on the Queen of Denmark with his Father and Mother Johannes and Magdalena. If this is true, then Terry Cowans statement in his book that his line of Dinglers are not connected to the PA Dinglers is correct.

Questions:
Did Johannes and Magdalena settle in Northamton Co. PA?
Did they have additional children born in PA? Ifso, what are thier names and dob, pob?
Was the John Dingler that married Eva Christina Eisenmenger the Johannes that arrived on the QoD?
Did John and Eva Christina continue to live in Berks Co. PA after their marraiage?
Are the John Dengler with George Dengler and Jacob Dengler of Douglas Tp, Philladelphai Co. mentioned in the imagrants listing, the same family of John and Christina?
Is the George Dingler mention in the imagrant listing with the John Dingler's estate, Easton Tp., Northampton, PA the George Dengler of John and Christina?

Any answeres to these questions that will tie into my GGG John Dingler(A) will be greatly appreciated.
My name is Wanda Vernon Dingler. I was married to Bobby Clyde Dingler who is the middle brother of Lee and Billy. We have a son, Joseph Kelly Dingler who is 39 years old.
Bobby and I were married August 31, 1971. He left when I was 3 months pregnant. He only saw Kelly one time. We visited him in Georgia. He was living in a trailer beside Lee's. I believe at that time Lee's wife's name was Pat. That has been so long ago, I wouldn't want to swear to it.
My son, Kelly, has been searching for his father for years. Only recently did he find an obituary for Bobby Clyde Dingler, that states that he dies last month, and that he lived in Lake City, FL.
I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you and perhaps together we can put all of these puzzle pieces together.
Please feel free to contact me via e-mail or my cell # is 972/213-6590.

Kindest regards,

Wanda Dingler

Looking for someone who can help me spread out or go deeper into this line on my family tree. My 4x great grandmother was Lettie Mae Dingler who married Mervyn Black. Her parents were John Dingler (b abt 1857) and Matilda. They also had children named Elmer and James. John Dingler's parents were Thomas B. Dingler (b1835) and Hannah. They also had children named Walter, Frances and George W. I seem to be stuck here. All these people lived and were born in PA except Thomas and Hannah. They came from Ireland. If someone could please help out! Thanks!

Hi George:
My name is Mary Durett and I am researching the Dinglers. My husband's ancestors were Arrowsmiths. Mable Arrowsmith was married to Charles Wentlandt and in the 1900 census they lived in Scotch Plains, NJ along with Arthur, Olive, and Wilbur Dingler. I have some questions as to why they were living there. Where were the childrens parents Edith Arrowsmith and George Dingler?
You may contact me at: mjdurett@comcast.net

Look forward to hearing from you.

You have not list the Dingler family correctly -- Besides Olive Arthur and Wilbur there was a George Dingler the oldest of the three -- Wilbur was the youngest -- George Dingler was my father-- All have now passed - My Aunt Olive was the last - Arthur was the first - My father George was next then my Uncle Wilbur died in Texas I forget the town but He moved from Toms River to Texas because of his son Edward and his new job- I hope this fills you in and if you want to know more write -- The Dinglers lived in the Germantown section of Perth Amboy then after the Morgan explosion in 1916 then the family moved around If you check the records of Perth Amboy you will find more information about the family, Hope to hear from you soon -- George Dingler
