I have accumulated some data on the family of an Elizabeth Showalter and Jacob Dinkle, whom I had believed to be Jacob Dinkle, Jr., born to Jacob Dinkle and Elizabeth MCGill. However, another researcher has indicated to me that Jacob Dinkle, Jr. married (1) Harriet Shelton Davenport and then (2) Nancy Washington Camden. My problem with this information is that I believe Nancy Camden was also the wife of Chappell Davenport and the mother of Harriet Shelton Davenport.

The children I have for Jacob and Elizabeth Showalter Dinkle are John H. Dinkle [b. 1826], Jeremiah Dinkle [b. 1830], Sophia Dinkle [b. abt 1833], George William Dinkle [b. 21 April 1840], and Elizabeth Dinkle [b. abt 1843]. These children are all too old to be children of Jacob Dinkle, Jr. if he was born in 1822, but not born too early to be the children of Elizabeth Showalter who was born in 1804. I must have confused one of the several "Jacobs" along the way but cannot figure out where. Any assistance unraveling this mystery would be most appreciated.
