My G grandfather, Gerhardt Dircks, immigrated to NYC in 1869. I have his passport with his complete discription. He was a taylor in NYC and is buried at the lutheran All Faiths Cemetery in Middle Village, NY. In a plot very close, the Herman Dircks family is buried, their deed dated 1892 under the spelling of Diercks.. I remember my mother telling me when we were visiting this cemetery that Fred Dircks, who is buried in the Herman Dircks plot was "Pops" cousin. In an old NYC directory we found that Herman & "George" really Gerhardt were taylors: Gerhardt at 119 W. B'way, his home address 3 N. Moore, Herman G. taylor, 59E. 125th St. & candy, 1890. I sure hope these are your relatives too, as we haven't been able to locate any living descents of the Dircks. Mary Dircks Wilkins, Gerhardt's daughter had one daughter Marie Blendermann and Marie had two childeren, Marie & Louis. Louis married and probably had children living in CA. My lineage is Gerhardt, his son Herman, my mother Henrietta Dircks Powell and me Diane Powell Merrill. Please reply asap.
