Yes... I have a letter from my grandfather stating that Gerzina and Hildebrand migrated in 1848; however, the 1900 Census records completed by Hildebrand denote 1854 as the actual emigration year. Looks like we're on to something here. FYI, my brother uses the name "Van dob" in his business. I also have a very ancient typed document found in my grandfather's family bible, which I believe is written in Dutch. There appears to be two families listed... "Smith" and "Dobb".
