My father's family name is Dobb; also spelled Dob in early records from the Netherlands. Our chart begins with Hildebrand Dobb (b. 1827), married Gezina (Smith?) b. 1838.
Hildebrand and Gezina immigrated to America (Chicago) in approx. 185x, had 11 children all tolled. The oldest, Jacob H. Dobb, was my great grandfather, his son my grandfather Herbert Jacob Dobb, and his son my father Herbert James Dobb. The latter is still living (82).
