My goodness Laura - I couldn't believe when I read your message!My great-great-great granfather was also from Cornwall and was a tin miner. The coincidence is uncanny because the plain Dobb name is not that common and I have not heard of any other than my family who were all fom England as far as I know on this branch of my family. My grandfather who was th tin miner was named William James who married a Mary Ann. I would love to hear back from you if any of this information coincides.
