Hello all you Dobson people. I've been away for, what seems forever. In "09" I fell and damaged my worthless legs. I have just began to walk, all be it poorly. Anyway I see someone confirmed what I thought all along, good job. John was Mary's husband and the father of Nancy, Jefferson, John Jr. Carroll and Martha. If you follow this family's 1st male was allways names John, which confirms my thoughts.

To Joseph: In a message you wrote, concerning Nancy Dobson, Carroll's sister, you stated that Nancy married an SM Church. I also spent a large amount of time looking for this line. You stated Nancy md Church in 1846. This is not possible due to the 1850 St. Francois Co. census shows Nancy and Lewis McCoy present, and 1860 Jefferson Co. I'll check for marriage after 1860. Just my observation.
