Here is a translated(by Lydia Sparacio Bontempo) Middlesex County Court order book for 2nd Sept 1740. A deed of gift from Dalhimus Macktyer to Hugh Macktyer of a negro slave was proved by the oaths of Curtis Parrett and WILLIAM DOCKS the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. I haven't seen the Docks name in the Middlesex County's Christ Church Parish Register. But he was there to witness the gift and to go to court.
