Arthur is pictured in the 1942 yearbook of the San Angelo (TX) Army Air Field, Bombardier School. I'm not kin but thought his might help someone researching the family.

Jan was my Husband's sister, Elzie. Their mother was Nellie Jane Kirby and father Elzie Edward Docter, Sr. As far as I Know they lived in the Lima Ohio area. I don't knw much else but would like to.

My Husband is Elzie Edward Docter, Jr. His father of course was Elzie Edward Docter, Sr. His mothers name was Nellie Kirby. They had 4 children of which two have disceased. As far as I know they lived around the Lima, Ohio area. My husband had an uncle Fred but his wife's name was Gladys, they had 8 children and lived in Cinn.
Maybe Gladys was a second wife, I have no idea. I am just getting into the Docter family and would like any information available to get started. thank you

Hello Rachel, you are my second cousin. Alfred was my uncle. I only met him once long ago, I think a year before he passed away.His brother was John Docter my Dad. Hi my name is Rachel Docter. My grandfather's name was Alfred Docter and he served in the US Navy. I'm not sure if his middle name was Carl but I saw your message and it sounded like him. His wife Ruby Docter is my grandmother. Don't know if this helps any but e-mail back anytime.

COLD CAUSES DEATH OF THREE-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Ruth Mary Elizabeth HUSTER, three-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank HUSTER, 719 E. Franklin Street, died at the home of her parents Tuesday morning. She had been ill from a heavy cold and complications developed. The child was born in Lima.

She is my father's sister. She died of kidney failure about eight years ago. My father, Andrew, just died this past November of heart disease, but my Uncle Tony is still alive and living in Kenosha, Wisconsin. That is all of Mary and Onofio's children.

I only know a Carl Dokter who's father was born in The Netherlands in the beginning of 1900.
This father moved to the US I think in 1920. Maybe his son was Alfred Carl Dokter. The last I've heard from this son that he lives in New York.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about the Docter family, but I saw your message and had to write. I have a copy of your Van Engelenhoven book on my desk right now! I borrowed it from my mother.

My mother is Valerie (Klein) Gardner, daughter of Norma (Dykstra) Klein, daughter of Jennie (Van Engelenhoven) Dykstra. I'm having great fun researching Genealogy. I haven't had a chance to go through much of your book, but I'm glad to have it as I know hardly anything about that branch of the family.

Alfred C. Docter- Helen Haskell

I am looking for any relatives of Alfred C. Docter(DOB 1900?). He died in 1948 in San Jose Ca. after a Naval Career. He had a sister Helen (Docter) Haskell and a sister named Gertrude. He also had an Aunt Ida. I am his grandson Austin Docter (DOB 1965). My family has never been able to find any relatives beyond my father John N. Docter(DOB 1935) Thank you in advance.
