My John Dodds had his father as George Dodds born in 1839 in Morpeth, his mother was Ellen Purvis.
George Dodds, Mother was Elizabeth Dodds (unmarried) but no record can be found after his birth, so he was brought up by his aunt Jane Dodds, and her father also George Dodds he was born in 1777 in Bolam Northumberland.
The one connection between all three of the Dodds was that they were all Stonemasons.
