TIPTON, Iowa -- Anker Marilyn Doermann, 71, Tipton, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, after a sudden illness.

Services are at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton.

Mrs. Doermann was born March 9, 1933, in Eliza, Ill., the daughter of Paul Edgar and Gladys Evanna (Irwin) Muchow. She married Lavern Herman Carl Doermann on Nov. 5, 1955, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

She attended school in Joy, Ill.

She was a homemaker and volunteer at Cedar Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sally LeeAnn Christophersen and companion, Greg Beck, of Davenport; two sons, David Michael Doermann and Lanelle of Sabula and Thomas Edgar Doermann and companion, Cindy Wurr, of Tipton; grandchildren, Ty Lucas Doermann and wife, Brandy, Amanda Lynn, Beth Nicole and Jacob Stephen Christophersen, Zachary Thomas and Taylor Lynn Doermann and Jason James and Bradley Joseph Wurr; a brother, Albert Eldon Wagner and wife, Helen, of Eliza; special cousin, Helen Neuman of Reedsburg, Wis.; and special friend, Kris Ramos of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jennie Lucile Wagner.

TIPTON, Iowa -- Lavern Herman Carl Doermann, 77, Tipton, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be at Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton.

A memorial has been established for Tipton Booster Club or Cedar Manor Nursing Home.

Mr. Doermann was born May 9, 1927, in Tipton, the son of Charles Ernest and Minnie Sophie Brinkman Doermann. He married Anker Marilyn Muchow Nov. 5, 1955, in Nashua. She preceded him in death July 20, 2004.

He was a 1945 Tipton High School graduate.

He retired as a sign crew supervisor on secondary toads with Cedar County.

He was a member of United Church of Christ, Clarence, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2537, Tipton.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, David Michael Doermann and wife Lanelle of Sabula and Thomas Edgar Doermann and wife Cindy of Tipton; a daughter, Sally LeeAnn Christophersen and Greg Beck of Davenport; nine grandchildren; sisters, Vera Eiben of Wheatland, Darlene Horman and husband Raldo of Tipton and Mary Louise Horman and husband Harold of Lowden; a brother, Erwin Doermann and wife Dorothy of Tipton; sisters-in-law, Margaret Doermann of Morley and Leona Doermann of Mechanicsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Eric and Melvin; and a brother-in-law, John Eiben.
