I have some information on Herman Doetsch, he was the son of Herman and Marie Doetsch, born 1871 and died abt. 1923. He married Libbie Hubbert, born 1881. Libbie was the daughter of Adam Hubbert and Elizabeth Botens/Bodens, who lived in the lower Beechwoods area in NY. Herman and Libbie had 6 children, Marie, Harold, Hazel, Irene, Ralph and unknown. Hope this helps. Does anyone have any other information either on Hubbert or Doetsch?

Hello, I am also in search of the Doetsch family history. My great grandfather Mike Kurz married Catherina Doetsch in northern Illinois. Catherina's father was Bernhart Doetsch he had a brother named Philip. I know they came from Prussia around 1840 to northern Illinois, but that is about all I know. If anyone has any information about Bernhart and family please let me know. Thank you Brian Bauman

Hello Mary - Glad to hear from a descendant of this family. I have been researching several Doetsch lines for the past 2 years, trying to find the origins of my gggrandmother, Margaret Doetsch, who married Peter Klock. They lived in Bloomingdale, DuPage Co., IL. I believe she came from the Doetsch family that lived in Detroit, MI, however, in researching that family, I came across your Doetsch family. I believe they are related, as they came from the same several neighboring towns in Germany, and the given names are all similar (there is a Eugene in the Detroit family as well, for instance). I have not yet connected them, but have collected a LOT of information on all the lines, mostly from the Census and two very helpful descendants from the Michigan Doetsches.

I have attached the GEDCOM of Bernard Doetsch, who would have been your gggrandfather, according to my records. I visited the gravesites at St. Joseph's in Wilmette last fall. This family and the affiliated families - Puetz, Hermes, Schneider - owned fruit farms and greenhouses along Lake Michigan in the town of Gross Point. One of the sons moved to California and apparently started fruit farms there. I don't have much information about that.

Hope this is of some help. Look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, I am researching my Doetsch family origins. I live in northern Illinois. My father was Eugene Doetsch. His father was Adolph Doetsch. Beyond that, I do not have any information other than the family originated in Trier Germany and somehow came to an area in Northern Illinois called Willmette. I would love to hear from anyone familiar with my family background. There is also a side of the Doetsch family that migrated west to California. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Mary lynne Doetsch

My great grandfather was Doctor Jacob Doetsch, born abt.1839 in Prussia. He married a Mary Tuman in Pennsylvania abt 1871. He was believed to be in the Prussian Army and I have a picture of him in uniform. The 1880 census shows him in Pittston, Pa. but nothing after that. I am told that he had a brother named Herman that also came to the US but, know nothing else. Looking at the general birth dates, these three(John,Jacob,Herman) could all be brothers ? Have you researched any passenger lists, etc.? I will travel to northern Pennsylvania, to look at some microfilm in the near future. If I find any immigration information, I will let you know. Regards, Gordon Fath
