Hot darn, and hello cousin! I'm so glad to have learned that all of my suppositions were correct--I've been trying to trace this for some time now. Yes, Florence E. (Auntie Aileen), is Connie's mom, and Eva M. (Peggy--passed away a year ago this past November), was Emil's mother. I would dearly love to have a copy of the censuses you have, and any other hard evidence/material that you would be willing to share with me--I'm more than happy to pay the cost of procuring them. One thing that has me bewildered, however, is that I have found a census entry for Canada, 1881, that lists Catherine Kester, and five of the children in the household, listing Catherine as the Head of Household, and a widow, when the information I can find on William is that his death was 1936, which isn't too likely, as this would have made him about 109. I didn't even have Charles Henry, Eva Belle, or Laura as children for Frances and Maria Conklin. This is so exciting--can't wait to share this with other family. Now if I could just get a handle on the gr. greats of the Fredrickson clan--Elmer Emil's father was August Pere (a family record I have also has him as Pere August--??), but apparently he mostly went by Gust Fredrickson, and his father was Fredrick Magnus, mother Christina Ellison Magnus. With the patronymic naming system used in Sweden (is that the right term), Gust's father was likely actually Fredrick Magnus(s)on, and I found a file at the LDS site that I believe could actually very well be his family, but upon contacting the submitter, she is not at all sure, and she did not keep records of any but her immediate family, and I have really hit a dead end there. I sure with I knew how to better find people born in Canada. My own gr. gr. grandfather was born in Canada, and I am trying to trace my gr. gr. grandmother's lineage--have found their marriage place, date, ages, and witnesses, but can get no further. I have found a wealth of information on the internet, most of it pretty reliable, but due to health concerns, am not able to get to an LDS site myself to search records. Another cousin of mine and I have been trying to trace another gr. gr. grandmother of mine, and our grandfather (my gr. gr., her gr.--same person), and I am amazed to see the Maria Halstead--we believe that we have a Halstead connection as well in my family. I would be glad to share whatever information you would like from me as to Emil's family. My health leaves me with a lot of sleepless hours, and I have a laptop networked in my bedroom, so when I can't sleep, I pick up the computer and "surf". So glad to hear from you--would you have a gedcom you'd be willing to share with me? Thanks so very much for your time, and I understand if it takes a while for you to get back to me. Oh, also, can you tell me if the information with regards to Maria Dome's father, etc., is proved? Thanks again so very much, Aimee
