Okay, well, then that WOULD make the 1881 census correct listing Catherine as a widow. So, here is another puzzler perhaps you can answer. For the ethnicity of Catherine (on the census she is entered (probably a typo) as Catherin)) and all of the children listed are listed as German, but on all of the censuses I've found for Wilmot, he is listed as "born in Canada-English"--any idea why the conflicting info.?
