I was looking for information on Mallie C. (HOOKS) BOONE that married a Malvin DOKEY in Oklahoma in 1922. It would have been her second marriage and I think she died in 1925. I have a copy of their marriage record. The marriage record indicates that they were both residing in Duncan, OK. I am trying to find out where she died.

I am trying to find out information about my Great Great Grandmother. Her name was Allee Dokey. She was married to William Henry Collins on March 24, 1869 in Cass County Michigan. She was supposedly born in New York in 1852. When she married my Great Grandfather she was 17 and he was 42. I can't seem to find any other information for her like her parents names or anything. I did find a census record from 1860 of a Stephen Dokey at a home of some people named Tnoosphat? along with a little girl named Alle Dokey. Stephen was 65 at the time, so I'm wondering if she was his granddaughter. Her age at that time corresponds with her date of birth. This is a huge mystery in my family and we're anxious to solve it. She apparently died when my Great Grandfater was young, because in a later census my GG Grandfather was listed as a widower. If you have any information about this please let me know. I'd love to know more about her.

I am the son of Charlotte (dokey)and Earl Weiss. Charlotte Heney was adopted.she had adopted brothers Clemens (Clem) and Jim. Jim's wife was killed by a drunk driver.Charlotte Weiss died 5/19/1994.my sister, Vickie, has pictures of the Heney's . She also has more info on the family. You mention French ancestors. I have always been told English/Dutch heritage. Would love to swap info.

I was lookin up information on my sons father Donald Earl Dooey and came across this. I don't know much about the Dokey family as soon as I conceived my son Donald stopped speaking to me. I would like to tell my son about his family when he's old enough to ask. Could anyone help me out. Donald has two children. Mackenzie who is two born august 29th and gage (my son) born august 31st. He lives in northville no still with his father merritt.

Did your grandfather Orville Dokey marry Helen M. Hoyt?

If so, her grandfather Franklin Hoyt and my gr-grandfather Lester N. Hoyt were brothers.

Terry, I was sick all last year...in and out of the hospital...my husband passed away Feb. 22...I have done no work on my Dokeys...On the sidchaarge papers from the Civil War one of the sons of Stephen and Elizabeth was born in Lansdowne, Canada...this town is located just below Montreal...that is as close as I can get in Canada but no hint as to the spelling in Canada...It was French Canadian though

Judy, I am of the same line. I am also tracking Nellie as Lew's wife and my Dad has several pictures of her. My grandfather was Orville Kenneth, who is Lloyd's brother. Do you have any information on anything past Stephen?? I also have plenty of information on the Dokey line that I can share. Currently my family tree has become dominated by Orville's wife, who is of the Hoyt line. Terry

Fran, have you been able to find out anything more beyond Stephen Dokey (born either 1802 or 1795 in Canada)? This seems to be the stopping point of our Dokey family. I hired one professional genealogist, but was not impressed with his results. I have a possible spelling and the line, but I need to authenticate it to ensure it is correct. I might hire another genealogist. Terry

Jason, I am of the same line--Stephen to Emery to Lew, but my grandfather was Orville. I have quite a bit of information about the Dokey's. I have seen there is much more about the Lewis line (yours) then about my line (Orville's). Have you figured out our original name spelling or anyone beyond Stephen? Please let me know. I'm sorrow I can't help you out with your search but I do know your Grandpa and Uncle Kevin. Your Granpa used to drive some horses for me at Roosevelt and Yonkers Raceways.
Butch Dokey won his 2500th race with a horse I trained in 1985(Bayou Almahurst). I knew Kevin Dokey from the backstretch.

I see Granpa is still training horse.

Who are Abram Dokey's parents?

I need to make a correction to my previous post...
"Clemens was descended from Stephen Dokey (wife Elizabeth Papins), then Abram Dokey (wife Alynese/Alinese Vayou), then Albert Dokey (wife Pheobetta Osborne), then Merritt Edward Dokey, Sr. (wife Charlotte Heney)"

I have found no proof that Abraham/Abram Dokey was the son of Stephen Dokey. The children of Stephen Dokey and Elizabeth Papins that I have found so far are, David J., Mitchell, Edward, Emery, Stephen Jr., Charles and William.

I don't know how Abram is related to Stephen. Could be a son, but might be a brother, nephew, cousin etc. If anybody has found documents indicating who Abram's mother and father were that would be great.

My GG Grandfather was also Lew, but his wives name was Nellie. My G Grandfather and Dad were both named Lloyd. I have other info but have to dig it out. Let me know if you would like copies

Hi my name is Kali Dokey and I too have been trying to research my last name. I live in Michigan and my grandparents are Jan Dokey and Merritt Dokey. My grandfather's parents were Merritt Dokey (1907-1951) and Charlotte (Haney) Dokey (1903-1996) and they had four children. Charlotte (Dokey) Weiss born in 1929 and died in CA, Elberta Dokey born in 1935 and is now passed away I don't have the exact date, John Michael Dokey born in 1940 and then my grandfather, Merritt Thomas Dokey born in 1939. My grandparents had four boys, Michael Dokey, Steven Dokey, Kevin Dokey, and Randall Dokey. My grandfather also has an additional son, Donald Dokey from another marriage. Steven had two daughters, myself, Kali Dokey and Kassi Dokey. Kevin had two daughters, Danielle Dokey and Lynsey Dokey. And Randy had three sons, Alan Dokey, Shane Dokey, and Jerad Dokey. If anyone has any other additional information maybe be relating to my family please let me know. Also I do know that my family came from southern France. Thanks!

Clemens Edward, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Dokey, Richland, Route 2, died suddenly at the home of the parents Sunday morning. Surviving are the parents; two brothers and two sisters, Merritt Thomas, John Michael, Charlotte and Alberta; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dokey, Richland, Route 1, and several uncles and aunts.

Malvin Edward Dokey and Ada Ann Holland had one Malvin Leonard Dokey who from a previous marriage had Lilburn Dokey he then married Della Lee Green they had Ruby Lee, Malvin Leonard, Ida Mirh, Ada Maude, Joyce. I hope this helps

I will be honest, I thought that this name would be very hard and that no one else has heard of the name Dokey! Glad to see that I am not the only one doing research on this name. My gg grandfather was Lew Dokey and his father was Emery/Emory Dokey. Beyond that and any more info besides that I do not have and would really like some help. (I have started a yahoo club under genelogy for this name!) My great grandfather was Lewis Dokey and his wife's name was Lucille Homewood Dokey Cook. If anyone has any info on that name it would be very helpful too! THANKS!

My Great Grandfather was Malvin Edward Dokey. He was married to Ada Ann Holland. My grandfather was born in Hope, Arkansas in 1886. This is the last record of my great grandfather that I have. I think they came down from Michigan to Arkansas, but I can't find any records of this. If anyone can help me on any Dokey's, please contact me. I am trying to do a family tree and would like to learn as much as possible about the Dokey name as I can. Thanks.
