Hi Candace,

I'm Alice's sister, Carol. I believe you have also been in touch with Babs.

Alice and George moved to Seattle from Philadelphia in the 1950's. They had two sons: William Conrad Goodwin, born November 23, 1963; and Daniel Anthony Goodwin, born January 24, 1970. George died in the fall of 2007. Babs thinks George was born June 17, 1930. (Guess I had better check with Alice.)

Hi Brenda, my name is Tracie DeLoatch. I am the grand daughter of Aaron and Clara (Harris) DeLoatch. My grand parents had 2 sons James and John DeLoatch and my grand father had a daughter Alberta Barnes-Combo. Alberta was born before Aaron was married to Clara Harris. James married Fannie Bea Green and John married Anne Drake. Alberta married Collie Cumbo and has a son name William Cumbo. William known as Bill married June Carol Jordan and had 2 children, Crystal and Dwanye Cumbo. Crystal has a daughter name Kameron and Dwanye is decease. June and Bill divorce and Bill married Elaina Ashley and they have 2 children Brandon and Je'Neice.

My name is Lela Doles Glaze. I'm 92, and descended from the Vinton County, Ohio and Louisa County, VA Doles, and James Doles of Scotland. My father was Duncan Doles, son of William Doles. Alexander, Lafayette, Mary Etta, Margaret, and Martha were the names of some of my father's siblings.
My Doles migrated to the west--to Iowa, Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and Chester, Oklahoma. I was born near Hugoton, Kansas, in Stevens County.
I would love to hear from you and from other Doles

I have a Columbia R. Sauls who married a George W. Doles (b.1840 GA D. 1896 AL) They married Feb. 21, 1867.

They had at least one son, Robert Doles and one child that passed away on July 12, 1871.

my grandfather was named james doles. he was murdered in 1936 in or around pochontas tennessee. his father was john doles, he fought in the civil war and was dicharged when the war was over. he is buried on a hill at big hill pond state park in pochontas tn. i think his family came from kentucky.

Doles in my family tree. My cousin Jeff Doles has been
researching our family hisotry for years. If you would

If I'm not mistaken, there is a book on George
Pierce Doles. My father has a copy of it.

I, Sara Doles, am a decendant of Iverson Warner
Doles and Sara Edna Daniell. They had 4 sons, Neal,
Harold, Warner and Stephen (my dad). Of course we are way
down the line. lol My section of the family came from
Birmingham AL.

There is a HUGE Doles clan down here in Florida all connected to George.

I have read that in the McIntosche Clan the sept name Doles is a corruption of the name Dallas. You can read more about this at my website www.doles.org

I am just begining to research my Doles family background and I would like to gather as much information as possible. My father is now passed away, as well as his parents. My Grandparents were Clyde Sanford (Lucille) Doles Sr. and my fathers name was George Edward Doles. My father had a twin brother, named John, that was killed by gunshot wound.
I know there is a cemetary in Southern Ohio named "Doles" cemetary.

I have Lucy Doles born abt. 1782 in Northampton Co. NC she married John Suter and they had 3 children: 1. Arthur Suter, 2.Nancy Suter, and 3. Elizabeth Suter.
Lucy's sister Cherry also married a Henry Suter.
Their brother Henry Doles (will dated Nov 16 1809) married Cherry and their son Britain Doles married Jan 6 1818 in NHc NC to Elizabeth Suter.

I am seeking information on THOMAS DOLES [b: 1775-1794]. His parents and place of birth are unknown.

The 1820 Trigg Co., KY census shows the household of Thomas Doles containing: 1 male (26-45); 2 males (under 10); 1 female (26-45); 2 females (20-16); 2 females (under 10)
Thomas apparently died in 1823. In Trigg Co. court records his wife POLLY [MARY] qualified as Administrator of his estate [October 20, 1823, p. 122, Order Book A]. Her securities were Whitmill Holland and William Hogan. Court records indicate that Thomas' estate was inventoried [December 15, 1823, p. 126]. Thomas' wife may have been Mary Rhodes.

I am currently living in eastern Europe and

here. I have researched the Doles name in
Scotland where my father told me the family
immigrated from.

Father: Frank Marcellus Doles
Gfather: Pearle Albert Doles

My grandfather migrated to Montana from Ohio.
I have been told of a cemetary in Ohio that
is known as the 'Doles' cemetary.

There is a society in Aberdeen, Scotland, that
is very helpful in tracking names. I found
the Doles name in church records back to approx.
1602. I do not have the paperwork with me
here in the Czech Republic; however, will return to
Texas this summer.

My brother, Malin Marcellus Doles, lives in
Summerville, Oregon, - he has information
on the family name. Reach him by mail.

I have an Eliza Doles from Vinton Co. OH as my ggrandmother. She was maried first to a Ritchey then to my ggrandfather Wm. Salts. They had my grandfather Oscar Edward Saltz. Eliza is buried in Greenlawn Cememtary Chillicothe, OH tombstone states 1946 as death. Does this connect with any of your's? I do not know anything about her parents.

Hi,

I saw in the census where a Lemuel Summerell married a Mary A Doles on Nov 19, 1821 in Southampton, VA.

My Mother's Mother was a Summerell, and I have traced her line back to a Lemuel Summerell born around 1825 and was married to Melvina Witherington.

My Summerell Families lived in NC, in what is now Craven Co, and in a town called Vanceboro, they lived out in the country part.

I guess I am asking if you had this Mary Doles and if so do you know if they had children?

I saw where a Lemuel Summerell married a Mary A Doles on Nov 19, 1821, in Southampton, VA.

Some of my ancestors are Summerell's on my Mothers side. I traced mine back to a Lemuel Summerell who married a Melvina Witherington, my Lemuel was born around 1825, so I was wondering if this could be his Father, just a wide guess but I am still digging.

Hello Brenda, I haven't seen you since 1970, when I came to N.Y. I was staying with my uncle Andy and Dozene on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. In case you don't remember me my mother is Annie Tensley, daughter of Moses and Annie Deloatch. How is Zoody, CJ, puttin and the rest of the family? Who is particular do you want to inquiry about? You already know that your grandfather Johhny's parents were Anderson and Cora Deloatch and lived in Margarettesville. Anderson's parents were Moses Deloatch and Penny Deloatch. Besides the uncles and Aunts you have mentioned there were more,Lucy, Charles, General(died when he was about 8 years old, he fell into a pot of boiling collards while playing with Moses and Georganna. Aunt Georganna died two years ago, she was 94. Grandma Cora was a Peebles and believed to be a cousin of Grandpa Anderson. Aunt Georganna told me that Grandma Cora's parents were a John Westley Deloatch and Georganna Peebles.

Can you check with Freddy Doles and see if he ever lived in Dayton Ohio or the surrounding area? I saw and met him once in the early sixtys. I lost touch with him because I was shot in Viet Nam and lost all my papers and everything.
