DOLLARHAIDE of Wise VA and Catawba Co NC
My son-in-law is the son of a living DOLLARHIDE from Catawba Co NC. Living is the son of one of the daughters of Edward [Edd] DOLLARHIDE and Bessie ROSE. Even he is a bit confused sometimes about who his mother was since they both raised him.
I know that Edd is the son of John DOLLARHIDE. Both these families lived in Wise Co VA at least 1880 thru 1930. Edd is the son of John. I believe John to be John Sturgis, son of Hiram DOLLARHIDE. John Sturgis DOLLARHIDE first married Margaret. They have 6 children on the 1880 census. By 1900 however, Margaret is gone and all of those 6 children have gone their way and John is married to a woman who's name appears to be Lananey or something similar. They have a whole new set of children. This second wife is almost 30 years younger than he is and is the mother of Edd or Edward.
I am researching this line for the benefit of 2 granddaughters who are 3rd G. grandchildren of John and *Lananey* DOLLARHIDE.
Any help at all with this family would be greatly appreciated.
