My father,Claude Craig Dolly, made the below post back in 2001. He has since past away and I would like to pick up from where he stopped..





"I am trying to find information regarding the surname Dolly in Iowa and/or Ireland. My grandfather was Claude Clement Dolly. I know he lived in Clinton, Iowa and think he was born there on Nov. 20, 1905. He had a brother Jim Dolly. I think he had three sisters: Helen, Dorothy, and Marianne. I believe his father's name was Ed Dolly. I am having trouble finding any information about this side of my family or where our name came from. I know that it came from Ireland, but that is all I know. I would greatly appreciate any comments or help. Thanks."
