Hi

My grandfather had a brother James William Dolman who had a wife Aimee and they emigrated to New York - James came from a farming family in North leicestershire. James was born in 1881. I beleive they lived in Brooklyn, NY. Could this be who you are looking for?

Kathleen

Nickie, I didn`t see much of Hilda in the last few years of her life as she didn`t get out much.Mavis,Winnie & Hilda`s mother was Rena Dolman Salt she was my grandfathers sister. My grand father was Edward Dolman, my mother is his youngest daughter June sadly his son Edward and other daughter Evelyn has died but my mother is still living.
Winnie and her son michael have both died. You could also look for the names of other families related to us,i.e.BEAN/KEEN/MEECHAM
Do you know anybody who still lives in Alrewas that i could get in touch with to give you my email address through them instead of putting it on public view.

Yes i knew hilda she lived in my village. If you have names of your family go to search information shows go into BMD and type in either SALT OR DOLMAN in surname only and in location type in stafford county england then search. you will see loads of people come up,
go down and find all in the staffordshire area ie burton upon trent, alrewas,& lichfield also rugeley and surrounding areas they are all related and moved into those areas. hope this helps a little.

John DOLMAN 1813

Is anybody able to tell me whether John Dolman born 1813 Fisherton Anger, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England (parents James Dolman & Elizabeth Coombs) is the same John Dolman appearing in the Goodies & Baddies Index from Wiltshire? This John Dolman was 16 years of age when sentenced in the Wiltshire Quarter Sessions to County Prison on 14 July 1829. He seems to have arrived in Australia circa 1852 and settled in the Bendigo (Whipstick/Kamarooka) area.

Re: DOLMAN and Glover

Hi, I have both Dolman and Glover in my family. The Glover's lived in Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. Francis Glover b.1841 and Mary b.1851. They had Albert b.1878 and Lily (my G Grandmother) b.1880, and Daisy b.1882. Lily married John Dolman in 1903 in Burton upon Trent, and if I am correct (I may be wrong as I am very new to this!) they had Dorethy b. 1906, Alma b.1908? and John born after. They immigrated to Australia around 1913- 1915.
I am trying to find information on John Dolman's family who were from Scotland in Kircudbroughshire, however there are no listings of births in this area. If you have any information I would be very greatful.
