Dombrowski's from Maciejowa Szyja Poland / Myszyniec Parish.

My grandfather Stanislaw Dombrowski and his brothers, Jan, Joseph and Ignacy left Poland one by one from 1894 through 1902. I am looking for any relatives or information about my ancestors here in the USA or back in Poland.
My grandfather and his brothers all settled in the coal mining region of Schuylkill Count Pennsylvania, specifically Mahanoy City and Frackville.
My research has shown that the Dombrowski brothers were all raised in Maciejowa Szyja which is in the Ostroleka County about 80 miles north of Warsaw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmina_Myszyniec
They were all baptized in the church in Myszyniec, Holy Trinity Parish ( beautiful church ).
I traveled there this past fall hoping to find relatives but was unsuccessful. If there are any Dombrowski's out there looking for relatives that originated from this area please contact me.
Thanks,
Carol

Hi!

I don't have any information on the question your asking but I if Ignacy was married to Mary Soik I do have some pictures of a couple of his daughters and their husbands. His daughter Stacie married Joe Cychosz and her younger sister Johanna married Peter cychosz they were both brothers. I have pictures of Stacie and Johanna Dombrowski by themselves and for sure a wedding picture of Johanna and Peter cychosz. i might have a picture of Stacie and Joes as well but there are some pictures with no writing on the back so I have to try to find out who they are. These pictures came in a box from my great Aunt who's mother was Mary Cychosz (my great grandmother) who was the sister to Peter and Joe cychosz. If you want a copy of these pictures I would gladly email them to you.

Janice

I know my grandfather was a Dombroske in Syracuse and I think his father's name was John. I have seen it as both but also as dembroske. I have always been told it was Dombroske with an e not an i because we were German not Polish. I'm just starting my search though.

Andrew Dombrowski

Hi all. My great, great grandfather Andreus, who went by Andrew in America, was born in Jan 1954 in Germany (I think near the Poland/ Germany border). He married a woman named Maria and they arrived in the US in 1988 w/ their 2, or possibly 3, children, Andrew (mr great grandpa) and Paul. They settled in Syracuse, NY. The last name eventually became Dombroske, although another record also had itlisted as 'Dombrowsky'. I don't know anything about his or his wife Maria's familymembers (siblings, parents, cousins, etc). Please let me know if anyone has any info. Thanks!

Hi!

I know that you wrote this back in 2002, but I'm researching the Cychosz/Dombrowski family line. My cychosz research starts with John Cychosz married to Maria Ulik, they had Albert, Joseph, Anastasia, marcianna, Peter, Mary and Luccian. You have some of the same names listed on the Dombrowski line. Joe married Stella Dombrowski, I believe I have a picture of their wedding. Peter Cychosz who married Johanna Dombrowski, I believe I have a wedding picture. Mary Cychosz who was their younger sister who married my great grandfather Leon Davidowski I have birth, death, marriage and pictures of their wedding also. I also have information on John Cychosz their fathers marriage, death and naturlization papers. I recieved these photos about a week ago from Mary and Leons grand daughter. The names on the back of the pictures said Mrs. Joe Cychosz and Mrs. Johanna Cychosz so I believe these are the right people I'm thinking of. I also have some other pictures of people that I am unable to know who they are I don't know if you could help me with that or not. You can email me at WriteJanice@aol.com. I would love to share any information that you have.

janice

So far I have had no luck finding any information about the Dombroski side of my family and I am hoping some one out there can help me.

My late grandfather Stanley Dombroski was born June 16 1923 in Verdun, Quebec, Canada. He was born to Joseph Dombroski and Rosalie Domaracki. I believe both parents to have been born in Poland and that Rosalie was Joseph's second wife. They had one other child by the name of Helen who is believed to have married a Derrick.

Joseph's first wife is believed to be Zophia (Sophia) Kaminski. They had five children that I am aware of: Alex, Irene, Jenny, Ivy and Theodore.

It is also believed that sometime after immigrating to Canada, Joseph, changed the family name from Dombrowski to Dombroski.

If anyone has any information, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks,
Jake

My name is Dariusz Dabrowski. I live in Poland. This way I'm trying to find the ancestors of Adam Dombrowski (or Dabrowski - both spelling are possible) my grandfather's brother, who emigrated from Poland before 1913. He arrived to New York from Hamburg, in March 8, 1913 on the Pennsylvania ship. He was 24 years old at this time. He took part in World War I in Europe. He used to live in Baltimore and he was married. He has four children - sons: Bernard or Adam(?) and Edward (born in 1921?) and daughters: Josephine (born in 1931) and Jane (born in 1937). Adam Dombrowski (or Dabrowski) - senior has been lived at 1639 Fleet St. in Baltimore 31 MD.
The only documents that are in my possession it's the letter from 1949 and photos of Josephine and Jane from that period of time. I have also the photo of Adam - senior from 1944 and 1949. As well I have the photos of his granddaughters. Adam's son - Edward Dombrowski (or Dabrowski) has been living in air base in Hickam on Hawaii, in 1953. Probably he was the US Air Force pilot, and he took part of war in Korea and perhaps in Vietnam. I have two pictures of Edward's daughters from 1953. On one of it is caption: "Hickam AFB Hawaii, Oct 1953 Pato"
(visit this site: http://archives.ubalt.edu/amp/ampxvi4_dabrowski.htm ).

I want to contact and find some more information about Dombrowski (or Dabrowski) family and thanks to anyone who can help me with it.

Any information please sends to my e-mail address: sptst@poczta.onet.pl

Jan I wish i could say that are Michaels are the same but I don't believe they are. Michael only has a first name (On church record) and marriage record (from the church record). His fathers name is Adam Joseph Dombrowski and his mother is Marianna Kurszewska. Michael's brothers were Thomas (b1846), Martin (1848) Vincent (1850 died in Poland), sister Elzabeth (1853), Marianna (b1858). Then Michael born 1861. If this info connects with anything of your info, pleaes let me know as I lost my Michael after his father died in 1888. Karen

DO YOU KNOW WHAT MICHAEL'S MIDDLE NAME IS? WHO ARE HIS PARENTS ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE? MY GRANDFATHER SUPPOSEDYLY HAD A BROTHER NAMED MICHAEL AND THEIR FATHER WAS A MICHAEL. MY GR ANDFATHERS WAS BERNARD FERDINAND DOMBROWSKI. I FOUND HIM IN BROWN COUNTY MINNISOTA IN 1890 WHERE HE FILED FOR NATURALIZATION AND THEN IT'S LIKED HE DISAPPEARD UNTIL1897 WHEN HE MARRIED MY GRANDMOTHER. THEY WERE SUCH CLOSED MOUTHED PEOPLE WE KNOW HARDLY ANY INFORMATION UNTIL EARLY 1900'S. WE WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND OTHER FACTS. THANK YOU JAN
