Hi Guys,

I am currently working on the Dominie name and have compiled a good list. Most of my side is from New York, but I do have an Aunt and cousin in CA. I would love to hear more from the two of you on any information you have. You can contact me at djrnr03@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Steven Dominie

Everett Nyanza Dominie (born 24 July 1875 in Nova Scotia) was my great-uncle. His sister, Elva Maude Dominie Freeman (born 18 April 1878 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia) was my grandmother. Their parents were John Jarvis Dominie (born 29 April 1855 in Nova Scotia) and Alice Josephine Meisner Dominie (born 15 April 1853 in Nova Scotia) who married on 14 January 1875 in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia. Jarvis' parents were Charles and Mary. Jarvis and Alice also adopted a son, Roland, who was born in 1890 and lived in Massacusetts (his wife was Ethel and they had a son and a daugher-Dorothy). Uncle Everett died in 1951, I believe.

Everett Nyanza Dominie had a son, also named Everett, who was my mother's cousin. They were in contact until her death in 2001. I presently do not know if Everett is still alive, but he was living in Live Oak, California. My great-grandmonther, Alice Josephine Meisner Dominie, is buried in Live Oak; she died in 1931, I believe.

I have only recently begun work on my genealogy. I would be willing to share info with you as I ascertain it. My email address is sheppered@roadrunner.com .

And, the question arises: Are we related?

I look forward to hearing from you.

--Tim Shepperd
