I am researching a Donahoo family starting
with Martin and Isabelle who were probably
German immigrants before 1795. They settled
in Augusta, VA.
Children: James, Martin, Andrew, William,
David, Isabelle. James married Elizabeth
Smith in 1816. They had David, Sarah, Smith,
John, and Evaline.
David married Elizabeth Brock in 1839.
Their children are James, Mary, George,
Henry, Joseph, Hannah, Catherine, Robert,
and Andrew. They lived for a while in West
Virginia, then movved to Iowa where
Elizabeth died. David probably died there as well.
I know that one of their children moved to
Oregon and is somehow related to my
grandfather, David Clark McCroskey--
possibly one of the girls
was his mother.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
