Looking for information on Robert Donalson and wife Hannah (last name unknown) earliest record i have is a land transaction for 315 acres in Orange Co. North Carolina in 1754. Lot's of information after 1754 and have hit another wall prior to 1754. Robert died in March of 1770 and signed his will Donalson, Hannah died in 1789 and signed her's Donaldson, they had two son's and seven daughter's. One of the son's fought in the Rev. war and three of his son's fought in the Tenn. Militia in the War of 1812. Robert Jr. then sold off the Plantation in NC.late 1700's early 1800's and moved part of the family to Tenn. and they then split up and moved to Illinois, Kentucky and Miss. Not much information on Kentucky and Miss., my line went to Illinois.

Or,some other genealogy program? I am asking because I can send you a report if you do. Otherwise, I'd have to mail it by "snail mail."

I saw your e-mail on the Donalson's. My late hustand's grandfather was Josephus Donalson, born 186l. His father's grand name was Warren F Donalson(5/24/1833) in Decatur Ga., and Warren's wife Was Lucy Bridges Shores. They married 2/28/1853. Their children were: Eliza Donalson, William Mangus Donalson, Lucy Love Donlson and George E. Donalson. Warren Franklin Donalson's father was William S. Donalson, wife-Rachael Bush. If this fits your line, I would very much like to get in contact with you. I am trying to help my stepson find his family tree. My husband was adopted when he was 12 and his name became Barton, and he only wanted to go by Donalson. My husbands father was Don Donalson, who lived in Houston, Texas. I live in Palestine, Texas and would like to find out more information to see if this is the same family. I have just about run into a dead in. you can contact me at jybmaw@earthlink.net. The above e-mail is no more. I would appreciate hearing from you or anyone and I will share what information I have. Thank you, Janice Barton, Palestine, Texas. P.S. His family is from Donalsonville, Ga., Decture, Ga.

I don't have a lot, very little on the Donalson's, but I can fill in on the Miller side if you like. I would like to get as much information on the Donalson's and go as far back in time as I can go. In the 1900 Ark. census it shows Riley Donaldson age 47 b. in Mo. wife Annie 37 b. in Mo. Thomas S. age 14 b.in Ark. Bertie E. age 8, b. in ark., William F. age 7., b. in Ark. Minnerva C. age 5, b. in Ark. Delfa M. age 2, b. in Ark. We think this family maybe related to Mittie Scott.
donalson/donaldson, Emma

Hello,
I'm researching my grandmother. Her name was Mary Alice Donaldson/orDonalson/or Donelson. (I have seen it written all three ways on documents or Bible info.)
She had two children by her first husband before she married my grandfather, Rubin Calvin Dennis. They married in Rowan County, Kentucky in 1896, but later moved to Ashland about 1904.
Grandmother's first two children were Floyd, born about 1891, and Emma, born about 1893. The story was that the first husband was to have testified at a murder trial, but disappeared and was presumed murdered himself.

My grandmother, Mary Alice, married RC Dennis in 1896. On subsequent census, they list the children she had prior to their marriage, under the name of Dennis. I am trying to find out what happened to Floyd and Emma (who I'm guessing had the name of Donalson. They were very young when my grandmother married my grandfather, so they probably thought it would be easier if all the children went by the same last name).

My guess is that Floyd and Emma met and married spouses in Ashland, Kentucky, since I have them on Census up to the age of adults.

Please let me know if any of this fits your Emma.
Thanks,
Nola Thacker

Family moved to Cherokee Co., TX where they appear on 1870 census, then to Tarrant Co., TX where they appear on 1880 census.

One other clue, a THOMAS DONALSON appears living with the Gandy's and Donalson's in the 1870 census, same age as JOHN CHARLES (25 years old).

Any leads GREATLY appreciated!
